  1. Wait…….the leafs had too much money in the top 6 and no money for bottom 6 depth so to change things they will spend less money on the bottom 6 and more on the top 6………yup makes sense to me 🤣🤣🤣

  2. Same old same old…3 useless guys (Holmberg, Kampf, Jarnkrok) for 3 other useless guys…When are the Leafs going to learn that you can't win with filling out your roster with these useless Bubble NHLers…Get rid of at least 1 more useless big contract…Like Reilly…Who's been a disappointment for the past 4 out 5 seasons.

  3. Of the bottom 6 I didn't mind Holmberg, but he had no ability to finish. We should be able to find a replacement who can pot a few goals. Kampf is ok but Yarnkrok hasn't made an impact since before he got injured.

Robertson can go; I'm unsure about Domi as he's hot and cold. Domi finally started shooting towards the end of last season so I'm willing to give him another season to see if he pans out.

If we can get a few bottom 6 grinders to pot a few goals that would be ideal. Then we'll just need a legitimate 2nd line centre and we'll be all set.

  4. I'm surprised they let Steeves go. But what's going to happen with Alex Nylander? Surely he could have signed an NHL deal with some team?

I saw a TSN discussion asking whether the Leafs should trade one of our goalies because of the tremendous need for starters right now, and asking whether it would be smart to trade one of them now because they'll no doubt get way overpaid and quite possibly end up with a legitimate top line winger, perhaps not at the level of Marner, but very close.

I wouldn't do it. There's been great success with A & B starters in the league and the Leafs were among the most successful! Also, what about the fact that Florida head hunted both our goalies!
You can argue the first hit on Stolars was accidental, and was the worst of the two as far as damage. But the flying tiger of death elbow that the scumball Eblad Dracula threw on Woll was effing egregious! I was "shocked" (but not surprised) the league didn't look at it and disappointed the team didn't file a complaint or even mention it publically, and of course nobody on the team made any Panther pay…I thought that era was over!

  5. 4th liners seem like blockbuster moves, leafs every year keep patching holes, pacheretty at 1 million is better than all the guys you mentioned, can this be the year everything go's bad I love it

  6. The Leafs won’t win unfortunately with their elite players, Matthews is the top dog and he’s not impressive in the playoffs and is starting to be injury prone 😢

  7. I like Holmberg. He was a hard worker and could be plugged in anywhere. Unfortunately he has no bite and virtually no offensive instincts, with weak wrists when he actually gets a shot off. No ill will toward him though. A solid citizen and hope he does well ( not TOO well ) in Tampa.

  8. Ethan Cowan should be ready to play on second line with Tavaris and who ever take a chance on the kid in the 6 hole forward spot I think he ca do it Tavaris and Nilander should insulate him enough to get better

  9. I am so happy they didn't resign pontus. Time for him to score 20 goals with the lightning as goes the toronto curse.

  10. Not thrilled with any of these signings so far. All these players when combined doesn't come close to filling the void left by making Marner the scapegoat.

  11. Can someone tell me how much as of today , the Leafs have left in cap space ?
Also, the 4th line is set.
    Lorentz Lauhhton. Domi

    3rd line

    McMann. Roy. Robertson

    2nd line

    Nylander Tavares Maccelli

    1st

    Knies. Matthews ? ( Ehlers)

  12. Tree has been doing commendable work; however, the key focus for this offseason should be addressing the mistakes made by Dubas not these insignificant signing .This includes finding a way to trade Morgan Rielly or buying him out. Carrying a $7.5 million salary for a player who cannot contribute to the first power play and lacks defensive capabilities is detrimental to the team.

Additionally, trading Calle Jarnkrok, whom Dubas recruited for over $2 million despite being a smaller, less impactful forward, represents a significant waste of both financial resources and roster space. Furthermore, letting go of David Kampf, who was retained on the recommendation of Shanahan but served as a healthy scratch last season, constitutes another financial misstep. Collectively, these three players account for a cap hit of $12 million per season, which is an unjustifiable expenditure.

It is imperative for Brad Treliving to address these issues this offseason; otherwise, the team's ability to improve will be compromised, regardless of whether they make the playoffs in the upcoming season. Unraveling Dubas's most significant mistakes is crucial to creating ample cap space for the future, thereby allowing Treliving the opportunity to build a genuinely competitive team. Unlike previous years, where the team excelled in the regular season but consistently faltered in the early rounds of the playoffs, it is essential to establish a more formidable roster.

  13. So far Roy is the only move I like.
What is the history of players looking to get their game back been on TOR?
I hope Maccelli is not a healthy scratch but I feel the curse will tell otherwise.
And to be HAPPY with Roy for Marner is just so sad, Marner should NEVER have been in that situation!
Worst mis-management of player in NHL history . go TOR!!!!!!
After that all TOR has done is improve the AHL team.

  14. All of these guys have been signed to fill the Marlies roster. If the leafs have to rely on them to contribute to the big club then they are in trouble.

  15. Boyd had 35 and 34 points (half goals) a couple of years back with Arizona. He could get 20 points or more as a fourth liner which is great.

  16. I'm very happy Holmberg is gone. I would like him in the bottom 6, but it's clear that Berube would continue to overplay him if he were re-signed.

  17. I'm ok with Holmberg gone, he was one of those good days bad days performer, ….they gotta use Kampf and Jarnkrok for a solid top 6…. but not give up the farm like in the case of Kadri, should this become a reality.

  18. The leafs need to get tougher on the back end. Need more defensive shut down players. Roy is a good start but we need 5 more players like that to be harder to play against. Tor are easy to play against. We need to change that characteristic

  19. The Leafs haven't really changed anything yes good trade with Nick Roy big body but they need a star player and another sandpaper player

  20. KAMPF ,,Never sweats , never exerts himself, never ,,never wins a puck battle, scared to get a bruise , lazy , has zero determination ,is shocked when he scores , makes 2.5 MIL… CYA

  21. They still need a game changer to fill Marners spot. No guarantee on these other bottom 6.
Like Knies, JT and Lorentz back. Don’t care about Holmburg.

  22. Yes Holmberg is someone we don’t need, also, Jarnkrok, Kamph, , All useless, All they accomplised, was occupying space on an ice surface, and adding to the cap space, garbage that must be dumped into the landfill
