  1. What a steal. I remember watching the draft and just thinking it was crazy that nobody was selecting him. I know there was the thought that he might not come over from Russia, but you have to take that chance especially if you are picking after the top 5. I think the Caps knew that Ovi would be a draw for him and that is why they pulled the trigger.

  2. 2018 – one of the best centers in the league + stanley cup champion 🙂 thx George!!

  3. People say an OK pick. Then, You must know nothing about hockey. This kid is a true superstar, at the level of datsyuk. He really helped Caps to win SC. To me his is simply an MVP. 32 points in the 2018 playoffs, ahead of the overrated Cosby. Listen to his live mic during the WC. that kid knows hockey like no one else. He was giving live instructions to his teammates from the Russia team, being a true coach on ice. His reading and understanding of the game strategy is simply numero 1. Noone in NHL comes even close to his level right now.

  4. I remember watching Kuznetsov and Tarasenko at the world juniors and thinking how dominant they were going to be, some of the plays they made were elite

  5. Hindsight is 20/20, but boy, some of the Yinzers were really upset when they learned that Kuzy was available at 26th and the Pens had an earlier pick (they went with Beau Bennett). If Pittsburgh was fielding Crosby, Malkin and Kuznetsov down the middle, I don't like the odds of surviving, let alone a win.
