  1. You hear that a lot about Vancouver. Guys who play elsewhere might be reticent to come because they hear the stories about the locker room rift, but most guys who have played in Vancouver want to stay. There are the odd guys like Miller or Bo or a few others I knew of in the 90s, but it's still eye opening to see the guys who will stick around and give the Canucks at least a chance to offer them a decent contract to stay. Brock eased up on his salary demands to get the long term contract because he wanted to stay. People can say what the want about Brock "not getting any good offers" from other teams, but I saw his exit interview. He really wanted to stay regardless. That's what you want. Guys who really want to come back. The way I look at Demko's contract is that it's short term because of it injury issues, but if he's healthy, the cap hit is more than fair. Goalies are making bank now, and when healthy, Thatcher is a top 5 goaltender in the world at minimum. If he can't play, he goes on LTIR and we pull a Mark Stone. Obviously, they're ideally a centre short, but I don't think they're a contender with or without a guy like Suter or even Rossi.

  2. Hey Donnie and Rick, we are happy to hear the clarification with respect to your schedule and that you will be returning in September (2025), not 2026 or 2027. Your show is an inspiration to all us old men sports fans – actually I bet there are a lot of women fans of the show. I still remember curling up with my girlfriend and watching Sports Page on Sunday nights – of course after "Married with Children" and other shows on that upstart Fox channel's Sunday night lineup. My girlfriend wasn't much of a sportsfan but she and my other friends girlfriends were usualy big Sports Page fans. The show was really entertaining and brought to us via a young, good looking, energetic group of sportsfans that doubled as "broadcasters/reporters". I still chuckle thinking about when Dave Randorf was hired and his super big smile and incredibley cheery anunciation of all things sports – thinking "is he too much", but him like everyone else grew on us and became part of our loved Sunday nights. Anyway, watching you succeed in the TV and online media space with a show that is on TV a remarkable two hours everyday speaks to your followig, your sponsors and the sports community that wants to see you and a BC product survive.

  3. I hope this doesn't age poorly, but could you imagine Demko returning to top form and destroying the naysayers this upcoming season? That one element makes the Canucks a playoff team. It'll just be up to the top forwards to ensure Demko doesn't have to make as many saves while padding leads, to determine how far into the playoffs they can go.
