this is JJ Purka and he’s another name on the long list of players that the Buffalo Sabres have traded away last night news broke that the Buffalo Sabres traded JJ Purka to the Utah Mammoth in exchange for Josh Stone and Michael Kesler ring wait what that has to be a mistake nope you heard it right the Sabres just traded their second highest point scorer from last season to the Mammoth for some ancillary pieces with some potential to help round up their lineup but in the end I think we all can agree that Buffalo lost this trade so why did the Sabres make this move well the player wanted a change of scenery and where have we heard this story before oh yeah that’s right look all jokes aside Buffalo needs to figure out what they are doing culture-wise you have the ability to draft you know how to develop players you have a solid core in place but now comes the most challenging part apparently for this organization which is building a culture buffalo is on a 14-year playoff drought and in my eyes trading yet another young offensive piece doesn’t exactly seem like the answer to their problems

They did get a 6,5 215 something pound RH defenseman. Not that kesselring is alone worth peterka but I do think people don’t consider how difficult a defenseman like this is to obtain in the NHL.

Buffalo does NOT have the ability to draft, they have the ability to turn players into studs once they LEAVE which I guess you can call developing if you want and I would not call their core solid whatsoever. Dahlin and Thompson are solid, Tuch is great but outside of that they are a top to bottom mess. True embarrassment to the NHL in terms of front office/management. It’s frustrating as a fan of hockey to see their pitiful misery year after year. I literally cannot fathom being a sabres fan. All 12 of them should boycott games until any true progress is shown. Their recent moves have been no indication of any sign of hope, if anything diving deeper into the opposite direction. Shame on the sabres org I am so sorry for the city of buffalo and the fans

I think J Doan going in the first round….. was well bc his Dad w part of the Coyotes then. Sure he started out w 8 points in his first 10 games if I recall correctly. But he’s not top 6 at all. At most he may get 40 points in a career best year. And Peterka was a dynamo at this years MWC. Peterka could be a point per game player playing w Keller next season. Great trade for Utah. Was this a cap space trade?

Like If they wanted young fringe players the Pensn wouldnt be a good fit I guess but what about a good player, or possibly a boat load of picks if your not trying to get bettet now… do they think they got Shane Doan?
