  1. Ghule – Dobson
    Hutson – Reinbacher/Strubs
    Xhekaj/Strubble – Carrier

Is how I see it for balance

Matheson/Dobson/Hutson/Ghule in top 4 as you suggest

Who is going to play physical? 3 offensive D and 3 LHD in top 4 makes absolutely no sense to me

You don’t go and trade for a 9.5m RHD to keep the LD/RD off balance

    Carrier replaces Savard
    Dobson replaces Matheson

    Simple Math son

Thank you for your service Nike 🫡 best of luck on your new team

  2. I got the feeling that the Habs lost a bit of confidence on their goalie Fowler during the Memorial cup…. that is why they drafted a goalie this week .

  3. It’s not just drafting to trade. The habs believe they are better at developing talent than most teams, so you bank to develop and trade with interest.

  4. if y'all think dobson is gonna be this amazing quarterback on your pp1 that will be good for 70+ a season, you're gonna be disappointed. he's a nice 5v5 second line dman. for 6'6 he plays as soft as its gets gets, no mean streak whatsoever, and hasn't shown he's able to elevate his game when it counts. not even close. good luck.

  5. Matheson is gone either Monday by 12 am or at the trade deadline 4.75 is too much money on the 3rd pair! Hutson and Guhle are 1 and 2 left D besides the fact that they’re at the cap limit.

  6. I see Noah Dobson as a Reinbacher in 4 years. We just accelerate our D squad, and the habs can be more patient with Reinbacher. He might not realize it at the moment, but it's probably the best outcome for him.

  7. You guys forget that some teams also take in consideration where a player wants to go as part of their trade process. They understand that they are upending a young player who might likely live in a new city for quite some time. I get the feeling that Darche had a price in mind but if the player really wanted to go to Montreal, it’s possible that we got him at a slight discount based on his desire to come here. Hughes also has done similar trades to help other players land with teams they want. These types of trades can set you back ever so slightly value wise but it gains player trust for the future and more players will want to come play for your organization if they know the guys at the top are building something special and willing to work with players when the fit isn’t quite right.

  8. They still lack talent no 2nd C, no 3rd C no tougness and skill o 3rd and 4th… Still ways to go. In Playoffs everyone hits, big size helps though, doesn't what they do in regular season, Floida doesn't hit like they do in regular season like in playoffs.

  9. Should we try this lineup at 5v5 :

    Laine – Suzuki – Demidov
    Caufield – Dach – Slafkovsky
    Newhook – Evans – Anderson
    xxxxxxxx – xxxxxxxx – Gallagher
    xxxxxxxx

    Matheson – Dobson
    Guhle – Hutson
    Xhekaj – Carrier
    Struble – Mailloux

And with the power play :

    PP 1 :

    Caufield – Suzuki – Slafkovsky
    Hutson – Demidov

    PP 2 :

    Laine – Dach – Newhook
    Matheson – Dobson

Or just trade Dach to get ROR (in Nashville) to replace Dach? Or instead give him a chance then sign Kuraly and Sturm to play with Gallagher and then Lorentz as a 13th forward. We have for the first time a real chance to make a big splash once more.

  10. I love the deal and it does endorse the team, but lets be real. Free agents want warm winters, no tax and then a place they can win. In that order.

  11. 23:55 re: red flag

It's been reported that Dobson was asking for $11M AAV to stay with NYI, so they likely never had the opportunity to sign him at the same contract MTL got him at. Same idea as Tkachuk signing in Florida.

Edit: 28:00 never mind you guys got it haha

  12. Players wanting to come to Montreal is a new thing in the last 30 to 33 years. Thank God for this management. I am so excited to be Habs fan right now.

  13. I think 2 players that fit what Emil gave the habs last season (fast physical forechecking) are in Laval..Owen Beck and Luke Tuch. These are 2 players with Ahl experience, that are knocking on the door. And remember, Kent Hughes said at his end of season press conference that they did not want to block their players from making the jump. So I disagree what Arpon says that the Habs "dont have anyone in their pipeline that can give them what Heinemann gave them"..the only question is, are they ready to start the season in Montreal?

  14. If Dach can show up to camp in shape and healthy, Laine-Dach-Demidov could be a killer line. We all know Dach has all the talent, I think he just needs to put in the effort mentally and leave the injuries behind him. It's also a contract year hehehehe

  15. Montreal has a lots of Canadian players and I think this is also a game changer……I don't remember the last time we had that much in the team

  16. Dobson literally said that his reason for wanting to come is because its the team from his childhood. you guys are just making up a narrative that fits your beliefs and running with it

  17. From MTL pov this is an exciting added piece.
From NYI pov two added 1st rd prospects, a young forward and cap space to add a potential UFA forward to play in top six.

  18. Who would have thought that being nice and taking care of your employees would attract other talent to join your company/organization? Strange isn't it 😛

  19. You guys just paid 9.5 to a guy who never scored in 31 playoff games. I feel bad your all so excited

  20. Excellent trade! A game changer IMO. If they can pick up a top six winger or center that fits, they could possibly be contenders in a year or two. The rebuild is in our rearview mirror. Exciting to say the least!!! GO HABS!!!

  21. I can smell KH cooking a trade/3 team trade with Dallas. Dallas seriously needs to shed cap while still being a contender.. If Habs retain 50% of Laine and Matheson for Robertson then they get a top4 puck moving LD and a goal scorer/PP merchant for less than 6.8mill together and dump ~1mill from Robertson’s cap hit. Dallas is still looking to compete and also wants futures for an RFA like Robertson and the Habs have a plethora of prospects like Mailloux, Engstrom and more. If the Habs really want a 2C instead of an expensive winger (they may not want another expensive winger without PP1 minutes) they can trade Robertson for a two way 2C strong on the PK and the third team can also send a prospect Dallas’ way.

I predicted KH going for Noah Dobson last off season and I’m getting the same feeling about Dallas. KH likes to use other teams situations to his advantage.
