Aaron Torres joins the Big East Energy Weekly podcast to discuss the state of Big East basketball. The hosts explore why the conference doesn’t get more national coverage despite its quality. They debate the authenticity and outspokenness of coaches like Rick Pitino and Dan Hurley, arguing it’s good for the league. The conversation touches on NIL spending, the evolving role of college basketball GMs, and early Big East rankings. Aaron predicts UConn and St. John’s at the top, with debate around the 4-5 spots. The hosts make a case for Xavier as a sleeper team to watch this season.

  1. The problem is the SEC did it right – a ton of great teams, keeping the geography reasonable. But we have the ACC and the Big East each with great talent but also not so great talent. Plus geographic weirdness like the ACC has California teams, the Big East goes as west as Omaha. Those 2 conferences can combine, keep all the good teams from Georgia to Massachusetts out with the bad and figure out football since there are a number of FCS and FBS teams that are somewhat on a par.
