HUGE Swayman contract UPDATE | Bruins Roster Update
what’s up Bruins fans I’m here to give you the latest info on your belov Boston Bruins today’s video is about the Boston Bruins and swayman supposedly aren’t close on a deal a very large defenseman is linked to the Bruins and development Camp rosters have been [Applause] announced according to NHL Insider Frank Sarah Valley even though the Boston Bruins did Issue a qualifying offer to Jeremy Swan it would seem the two sides aren’t close to a deal now I thought with the recent Yara signing at 8year 7.74 million deal that it would set the market for Swan maybe it did for Jeremy but I’m not sure about Boston Sweeney is never been shy to drag contract talks out and I’m sure all can remember how long it took to extend David Pak now we don’t know anything of what the deal is or even what swan is asking for but the rumors are that he’s asking for 8 million over 8 years Swan went to arbitration with the Bruins last year and made it clear he wasn’t a fan last year Swan spoke about going through arbitration pretty canly to the Bruins media and said yeah after dealing with what I did this summer with arbitration hearing things that a player should never he it feels pretty special to be in this situation he continued to say there’s no ill will on the process because I understand that I’m not the first player to go through it Swan said of going through arbitration in August I’m not the last but I definitely won’t wish it upon any of my friends and teammates moving forward and I don’t want to do it ever again as well so grateful I went through it oddly enough though Sweeney made these comments after hearings last year based on the fact that we couldn’t find common ground on a multi-year deal was probably the first indication that this was going to be the best path Sweeney said it puts Jeremy right back into the really good situation because we expect him to be on a topf flight goal tender and challenge despite having vzan a winner riding shotgun with him the way Jeremy is wired he feels he’s good it’s not better and he wants to be the go-to guy so those are good problems to try and sort through and have motivated players that have confidence as well as Talent this tells me Sweeney shouldn’t be shocked why it’s taking so long to get a deal done since it was so hard last year as well and this time Swan’s lights out during the regular season and especially in the playoffs Swan posted a 9916 sa percentage and at 2.53 goals against average with 25 wins in 43 games started now these numbers weren’t as good as the previous season but he did play more games last season and by the end of the year he had taken the net away from Lena armar and earned the spot as the playoff starting goalie Swan earned his first All-Star appearance as well last year for his career and so is resume is solid Swan took the Bruins to arbitration last year so technically the Bruins could take him this year but I truly believe that won’t happen my guess is they will get a deal done as they don’t trade away allmark if they don’t think they can come to a deal with Swan we’ll see what happens but signing Swan needs to be the number one priority this summer our next story is the Boston Bruins have issued qualifying offers for some players and not all Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced today that June 30th the team had issued qualifying offers Michael Callahan Mark mclaughin Alex regula and Jeremy Swan Joey a yeser vquest and Curtis Hall did not receive qualifying offers aate will remain under contract with the Providence Bruins though 2024 25 season what this means is yeser boquest and Curtis Hall will become unrestricted free agents and can sign with other teams I’m surprised about boquest though as I felt he was a serviceable player for the Bruins last season and added speed and skill to the bottom six when he entered the lineup in 47 games last season he scored six goals and got eight assists for 14 points hopefully he lands a contract with another team next season the next story is the Boston Bruins have lots of spots open leading into free agency and now being linked Nikita Zadora Elliot Freeman on 32 thoughts the podcast mentioned he thinks that Bruins will be in on the 6’6 left shot defenseman who recently turned down a 5year $5 million offer from the Vancouver kxs and will be a UFA zadorov who has a nickname we’re all familiar with Z is hard-hitting minute crunching good in his own end defenseman isn’t going to light up the score sheet as given he only got six goals and 14 assists last year between Calgary and Vancouver but he would add some snarl to the Bruins back end he would be a third pair in Boston though so that much cap hit for a guy on the third pair might not be the best he would be an upgrade for the Bruins back end that’s for sure though I’m sure frean suggested for the brunes because it was rumored that the Bruns tried to acquire him before Vancouver did but it’s also rumored that he could be going to the Toronto map Leafs we’ll find out soon because it’s a free agent season and the signings will be plentiful our last story the Bruins announced their roster for development Camp you may notice that Matty ptra is on the roster for development camps because his season was cut short due to a shoulder injury last year four selections from the NHL entry draft which includes first round pick Dean lerno are going to be there as well it’s going to be great to take a look at the Bruins prospects this week that wraps up today’s video to stay up to date on all the news surrounding the I may or may not made this video while completely exhausted last night when I couldn't sleep
Do you think the Boston Bruins get Swayman signed?
Like you said, once Saros got done, I figured we'd see Swayman locked in immediately after
Swayman hasn't played a full year yet. How can he asked to get more than Saros??
Did we let ullmark go because swayman is younger and cheaper. I believe our defense made our goaltenders great. I will not over pay for him and he can walk as far as i care. Go korpasalo!!
I really hate that they let ullmark go before locking doing swayman… and ullmark deserves to be number 1 but lock down one of your super stars first please!
Got to get Jeremy signed
No one is shocked by Swayman wanting to get paid. The issue is he's asking the be the 5th highest paid goalie in the league and he hasn't won anything yet. Not personal hardware, not a cup. That's hard to justify. If it goes to arbitration his reward will be 6. Personally I think 6 at 2 years is probably going to end up being where we end up with all of this. And frankly that does call into question if Swayman is the long term solution. It'll be the last kick at the can in Arbitration. When the 2 years are up he'll not be entering UFA. What does it cost you then? Probably 10. But a couple of cap rises down the road would 10 be easier to swallow then than 8 is now? It'd also be after Shesterkin sets the new goalie market rumors being he wants 12+. I think that's how it'll play out. Or he'll go into arbitration get the two year reward and Boston starts shopping him after year 1. All of this would be a less big issue if you hadn't already traded Ullmark. Making that trade before Sway was signed was dumb.
The B's blew it because of ego and sportswriter intimidating Sweeney.
SWAGMAN is not worth more than the Venzia winner Ulmark.
He's a punk with a special ed mentality. We DONT need another Tukka or heaven forbid
A Raycroft.
Typical Bruins jerking their best players around
We have to sort this out with Swayman and agree #1 priority and many of us were sad to see his best friend Ullmark go. That's #1 agreed. However, in regards to Big Z Zadorov I think personally he'd be really good and he and Elias played together last year. Still, first things first and that's Swayman. I also am concerned more of this is to come. Frederic didn't seem his happy self last year and we certainly shouldn't lose him. I hope the smoke clears with all this and it works out.
Swayman’s contract will look acceptable in 2-3 years and the cap will increase.
Funny how the Bs management never forking over the money for players brought in from outside the organization. Hold out Jeremy!
H'es probably asking for 10m and he honestly deserves it. He was the only reason we beat the leafs and took florida to 6
They are not going to find anyone better for less money.
Just get the damn deal done
