I like your enthusiasm, but you're passionate, realistic, and honest, right?
I can't see that roster winning a cup, maybe barely making the playoffs. I'm not satisfied with just making the playoffs anymore.
We are only one of two teams who have not ever won a cup. That is a terrible banner to carry.
How does the team fix it? Idk. Especially since no players want to come to Vancouver. We are at the "we have no choice" option, honestly.
That's my honest opinion.
You need cap space. You want to be a team that can take on that star player that wants out of his situation. Like Dallas last year. Why do we have to spend all the money just to plug and bandaid holes. Bring up young guys and wait for that rantanen or tkachuk Crosby. But we can't. Now we have 7,8 years of maybe making the playoffs.
The better question to be asking is why no players want to come play in Vancouver. It's unfortunately not just a single answer. Too much drama? Thought we traded away the drama months ago. No practice facilities? There are plenty of gyms and rinks in the Vancouver area. What else?
My question is, why would players say that? Too much drama?
Is there a locker room culture in Vancouver that players don't like?
Picture this you're a nhl player, and you're asked what teams you are willing to be traded to and not be traded to. Every single one is no to Vancouver. So what is going on? What is it about the Vancouver Canucks? The team culture? Locker room? Fans? Media? Other players? Management? Never won a cup? Can't see the current team winning the cup ? Or coming even close? What needs to change?
What is it that is being said in every nhl locker room amongst every nhl player that makes them not want to play here? What is it that is so bad? And you can't use jt Miller as an excuse because he was traded away months ago.
what is important is, how many play drivers do we have and how many do we need?
I feel this is going to work . They have a bunch of guys that r hungry for playoffs.
I think running it back is going to work. However, if Hogz (3M), Joshua (3.25M) and Oconner (2.5M) are not playing better than our ELC guys like Karlsson, Sasson, Raty Lekk and even BAINS, they should be shipped out. Thats 8.75M that could be covered by 775K x 3
Canucks need the ELC's in the system playing now Karlsson, Sasson, Raty Lekk and even BAINS, moving up the lines and the next group coming up will be ready in 2 or 3 years, Mueller, Lekkerimaki, Romani, Patersson and maybe even Coutes by then
