Reviewing the Boston Bruins ‘New’ Uniforms!
Hello everybody. Welcome back to FS Talks Jersey. It is I F the Falcon Jersey connoisseur here in the wonderful world of YouTube. That’s right, another video here of some new uniforms. The team is getting some brand new uniforms this time in the NHL. Now, so far two teams are getting some new uniforms. The St. Louis Blues and the Boston Bruins. Right now for this, it’s going to be a shorter video here for the Bruins. We’re going to be doing this one first. And this St. Louis Blues one, the review, the breakdown of that, new uniforms are going to be coming out possibly later in the week, maybe early next week, but stay tuned for that one. But for this one, it’s going to be a little bit of a shorter one with the Boston Bruins. That’s because, well, they do look familiar because they actually use these uniforms in the past, but they did get a new logo with these uniforms. So, it is technically counting as a full uniform rehaul. So, that goes with this playlist of new uniform reviews here on the channel. Now, the original inspiration for these uniforms were from the 2324 Centennial look. They did the one-off year celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Boston Bruins. They did a special edition three jersey set. It had just a bunch of different eras of Boston Bruins hockey into one now with these uniforms with the Bruins with the new logo and everything. This is actually the first official full-time new identity since 2007. It’s been quite some time for an historic franchise to make a change here. And they didn’t really do any crazy things like we’ve seen with other stuff. I’ve talked with other teams with like alternates logo, secondary logos. The Bruins are doing something very simple here. just a new logo, a new patch, a new home and road jersey. No alters since have been announced yet, but I’m going to go through the logo and both jerseys and give my thoughts and opinions. It’ll be very simple and you guys know how the grades work here. Just simply how they look and is it really an upgrade? But let’s get into it. Let’s take a look at the Boston Bruins brand new uniforms. Now, starting off with the logo here. I’m actually first going to put up their original logo they had on top and on the bottom here. Both the brand new logos. Now you see they’re pretty much very similar outside of a little bit of a tweak here and there. Now for the new main logo on the bottom here, it’s a simplified their iconic spoked B logo and it’s the same one they kind of had from 1949 to 1995. A very long time. Now you see with the old logo compared to the new one here, the new logo with the spokes around the B here, they’re not like separated with different black lines like in the old logo. It’s just simple with the color itself. And yes, like I said, it’s the logo is very similar from their 232 24 season, the centennial year where they just did a refresh for one season. And according to the team, they’re bringing it back with two separate logos. They’re both going to be the same with the spoke B logo, but they’re going to have different colors backgrounds. You see here, the gold B with the black dark backgrounds and then the black B for the lighter backgrounds. And if you want to see here, another list here on the side here of all the different Boston spoke logos throughout his team history. And on top of that, the team also introduced some new shoulder patches with the uniform. And it’s just the outline of the Brown Bear logo on one side of the shoulder here. And there going to be two separate ones. One reading Bruins and one reading Boston. Now, the Bruins only are going to be worn for the home jerseys and the Boston ones are going to be run for the road jerseys, which makes sense. And I got to say with the Bruins logo, I always thought it was a nice simple clean logo. Nothing too crazy here. The B with the spokes here with the circle around it. It’s a nice logo. And the old one was pretty good with the outlines of the spokes and the B here. But this new one here without the outlines and the spokes behind it, I think it looks a lot cleaner and simpler. It just kind of works really well. Has a throwback feel to it because essentially it is a throwback logo modernized. And I’m going to give it an A grade. I think the nose like spokes here, the plane in the background here, it looks really good. Both of them are really nice. I like the two different variations of it, too. One for the darker jerseys, one for the lighter jerseys. They both get an Agrade. I think they’re really good. Now, let’s get to the actual jersey. But before I talk about the newer ones here, I’m going to pull up here the three separate jerseys. On the left, you’re going to see the original Bruins jerseys, the ones they wore last year in the year prior to the Centennial year. Now, the ones in the middle were from that 232 24 Centennial year, including an alternate one in the middle, but again, there’s no alternate for this year. And on the right, you’re going to be seeing the new uniforms that’ll be wearing this season. Now, you see the home jersey here. It’s the black base like we’ve seen with past Boston Bruins jerseys with the logo here. It’s actually going to be the black spoked here with the gold B. Now, you see the stripes here on the jersey unlike the Centennial with the mult ones of the gold, white, gold, white here. It’s a simple one. They’re a lot thicker here on the arms. And again really with the jerseys here with the Boston Bruins. Again, they’re just changing the main logo here on the front here and changing up the stripes here a little bit on the side. But it is a simple look here. I like the gold here with the black spokes on it. This gets an A minus grade. It is a pretty clean look. Now here with the road jersey here, it is the black B here with the gold spokes around it. Again, like I said with that logo, it’s going to be used for the lighter backgrounds and jerseys. And the other one that I showed before is for the darker jerseys. Now, it’s weird to think that the team’s going to be using two different logos. This is actually the first time they’ve done two separate logos for a jersey since the late ‘ 40s and mid90s when they originally had those Centennial logo style. And much like with the home one, the real one here, the white base with the gold, white, and little bit of black stripes here on the arms here with the gold, black, white, and gold here on the bottom with a little bit of the black base here on the bottom of the arms. And you know what I got to say here for the road uniform, I actually like a little bit better. I think with that logo here, it definitely pops a lot more on the road uniform here with the black circle here with the black be and the gold spokes around it. I actually give this one an A grade. It’s very close. They’re both very good in their own right, but for some reason that road one I think pops a little bit more for me. Now, I’m actually kind of curious how the logos would work on opposite jerseys. Like how would that gold spoke black B logo go on the black jersey here? Because I know the black base is the jersey and the black is the B, but there is an outline of the B here in gold. So I maybe it would be a little bit different on here, but I’m curious how that would look, but overall I would stick with this and this is really good. Again, just the thought I just had in my head as I was looking at these. But yes, after 17 seasons, the Boston ruins have a new uniform looker. They did tease a little bit two seasons ago. Provo, like I said, the road uniform is really good. The home is really good. The rebranding I’m a big fan of. If you do qualify this as a rerand because they did use it not too long ago.
