We forget that the Oilers completely dominated Vegas and Dallas with an overage opportunist and a bunch of castoffs. And have lost to teams that have all been $10-$20 million over the cap. Let’s see what happens when that not allowed any longer.
This team is a lot worse on paper than they were two weeks ago. We lost five players and only gained 4.5 million in cap space. This team will never win a cup until they put winning as a priority over maximizing their contracts. That is 100% fact.
The Oilers haven’t gotten any better with these signs. They just lost a lot of depth with brown, perry and kane. Hey Edmonton Oilers, what are you gonna do to get better to be better next year cause right now Florida is the exact same team, but we’re not even the same team. We’re our worst team now.

These detractors, repeating the mindless "these goalies and goalie-coaches got them to the finals 2 years in a row!" mantra are unreal.
Like… They lost! And they struggled to even get there in the first place! "Maybe" them getting there has something to do with their actual strong spots, like the two best players in the world? And their weakspots were, where they struggled? Nah!
…despite, what any non-oilers-fan can see clear as day: "It's their goaltending, which brought them there", and any officer Barbrady would agree, there is nothing to see here: "move along!" Survivors bias in a nutshell!
Goaltending IS this teams achilles heel, absolutely, and every sane, uncompromised individual can see that. These fans are doing their team a disservice, by popularizing their rose coloured glasses!

Regardless of the players the Oilers have to have a better start or it’s playing catch-up all season long and that isn’t fun to watch.
