The Washington Capitals have added an intriguing blend of size and skill to their prospect pool, selecting Lynden Lakovic with the 27th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft! Caps fans will be reminded of Tom Wilson with his huge frame and offensive upside.
Lakovic, a towering 6’4″, 190-pound left-shot winger from the Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL), is renowned for his excellent skating for a big man, offensive instincts, and a dangerous shot. He led his team with 27 goals and 58 points in an injury-shortened 47 games, showcasing high-end scoring potential. While still refining his physical consistency, Lakovic’s ability to drive play and create offense with his size and mobility makes him a high-upside pick.

kid's got good size….hopefully has physicality and some grit. I like it if he's got good upside as others have said.
Great selection I had him going mid teens did not see him getting to us. Had the pleasure to watch him live at the chl prospects game he was a standout in that game who had a strong possession game and stood out in corner battles
If he develops into a player half as good as Tom Wilson without the enforcer role, Caps might have a diamond in the ruff. Time will tell.
