Very glad we let Tanev and apples walk and I like the moves for depth and moose guys.
Definitely hope to see a move for a middle 6 C, a guy like Pageau. Was hoping we could’ve landed Pius Suter or granlund but oh well

Not a terrible free agency but if someone says this was good. I will roll my eyes. Now my third favourite team is VGK. Pearson is good. He matches our third and fourth lines when Lowry is healthy. He adds a lot of checking, physicality, defensive skills, and leadership and still got a good amount of points for his ice time last year. Koepke is a decent signing knowing he is young and will get better but isn't gonna do anything for us now. Nyquist is a decent signing but he is gonna be 36 and is no longer that good. I think when I put it in perspective. If we held off all of the depth signings we could have actually gotten solid high level third liners/low-mid level second liners like Olofsson, Roslovic, and Kiviranta. We could have signed all 3 of those guys most likely if we didn't spend so much on fourth liners. Olofsson would get 3-4, Roslovic 2-3 and Kiviranta 1.5-3. In total that would maybe be $9M spent on extremely solid guys to have. But instead we got older for the most part. Not very impressed. Olofsson's sniping would be lovely, Roslovics overall game with his speed, playmaking, goalscoring would be appreciated, and Kiviranta's clutch goals are what we need.

I like most of your takes and we all make the odd "off" one. Seems you are more measured than last year at this time when you did not like the Arniel move etc. etc. and thought the Jets would not make the playoffs etc. and look what happened. 🙂 Fingers crossed that grit and grind and playing a system wasn't a fluke last year and that these guys continue exactly that on the bottom 6. Agree that these signings are better than overpays for Tanev and Appleton – but I really want to see Chibby and Lambert crack the line-up – at least one of them.

as always, free agency is still the Jets achilles heel, but can't put that on Chevy it's just the market. good on him for getting some depth guys.
Nothing that moved the needle towards passing the first round or inches any closer to a cup. Ehlers should be let go jets need to move on concentrate getting size and grit.
