  1. He will be a good back up for us. And maybe Bob will be able to work with him and improve his play. At the end of the day this is a pick that at minimum is meant to make sure that we do not have to play Bob every game.

  2. Hes got the only thing that can't be coached, size. He's fairly athletic with good size if he's the guy. If they move erod they'll miss the playoffs is my fear. If marchy was 33 or 34 heck yes sign him, but 37 meh. Granlund is younger faster and plenty skilled as a 200 ft player.

  3. Welp Sourdif got traded to the Caps for a 2nd (2026) and 6th (2027) round picks. Tough to see him go but at least he gets a real chance now. At least the Cats got some picks back. I’m interested to see Tarasov play, apparently he’s from the same hometown area as Bob and is his idol so yeah there’s that. Just need those extensions to be announced already especially for Ekbald and (possibly) Marchand.

  4. My condolences to you Jaws, your other son Justim Sourdif is no longer with our organization. It's for the best, I couldn't really see how he would get on the ice for us, with all forward spots seemingly taken up, at least we got some trade pieces out of it.

  5. Per The Athletic…

    7. Florida Panthers
Current projected 2025-26 salaries: $77.4 million
RFAs estimate: $875,000
LTIR candidates: None
Dead money deals: None
Notable unsigned UFAs: Sam Bennett, Aaron Ekblad, Brad Marchand, Nate Schmidt, Vitek Vanecek
Problem contracts: None
Projected cap space: $18.1 million

Analysis: The defending champs have some tough decisions to make, but the fact that they don’t have any dead money or poor contracts certainly helps. In fact, they probably have the cleanest cap sheet in the league, which is part of why they’re the champs.

Bringing back Bennett would figure to cost at least $8 million, even on a hometown discount, which very likely doesn’t leave enough cash for Ekblad, Marchand and a second goaltender.

Regardless, the Panthers look set to again dress a top team next season, even if it means digging for a couple of bargain buys with the limited cap space they have left after signing some of their big-name UFAs.

  6. Tarasov is decent – better than his numbers showed in Columbus. I like this move for you guys – it’s also low-risk if it doesn’t work out.

  7. It’s actually so hard to see him leave wether any player/goalie is good or not but I hope he does good in Florida
