Syracuse AD John Wildhack details which athletes get paid by the school (with Chris Carlson)

On the latest episode of Syracuse Sports, Brent Axe chats with syracuse.com colleague Chris Carlson about his recent interview with SU AD John Wildhack.

Brent and Chris listen to audio of Wildhack discussing who will get paid by Syracuse in the new era of revenue sharing in the wake of the NCAA vs. House settlement case, where the money will come from to make those payments, the growth opportunity for Orange basketball and more.

Brent opens the pod with a commentary on how NCAA Tournament expansion may be something that will make hoops fans groan but ultimately will be good for Syracuse.

  1. The Endowment… It requires creating the opportunity for scholarships to be stipends to the players then accounting to make it fit the rules of the Endowment. Given the crazy growth of tuition and the crazy tuition assistance packages that occur, all in or go home. You can't do this or that is not an answer… Call in the panhandlers.
