Bolduc’s dad mention that the agent stated that the Blues were trying to to move other young prospects but Kent Hughes kept insisting on Bolduc.

Bolduc out goal scored Celebrini, Michkov, Gauchier, Kasper or Smith in the second half of last season with 14 goals in 29 games.
Bolduc was 5th in rookie scoring after Montgomery took over. He finished the regular season with 16pts in 23gp. He did all that playing 13 min a night. This kid is gonna be beloved in Montreal.
I thought maybe the Habs might have gotten more if they had packaged Mailloux with another player,but perhaps not. I think Montreal Defense as good as they might be offensively are they tough enough to move players out in front of the net. If Xhekaj plays regularly it's a plus if not they have another area to fix. I'm hoping for F, Xhekaj to make the team.
Where does the Bolduc play? Caufield, Laine, Anderson play the same side? They didn't get him to be on the fourth line. So is there another player being moved out?

would you guys keep matheson and trade ghule for a top 6 centre? Hes prob the only peice that would be expendable to get it, I think Matheson and Dobson are both at the points of their career where there game will mature defensively and could be a viable 2nd pair option
So basically Dobson Bolduc Demidov Blais in for 25-26. Savard Dvorak Armia Mailloux Heineman out. We didn't even fix the problem at center yet and in my eye Montreal is already a better team than last year

he isn;t playing C, losign armia and dvorak are fine, need to open spots for the young players, you may see beck with Bolduc and Anderson, newhook with evans gallagher. kapenen may be the extra, i think im missing someone, i think dach starts with laine and demidov, i think another move or 2 is still coming, ld for sure
Serious question- how do people catch wind of trades before they happen? Who is leaking that info? Do these guys have rooms bugged? Are trade talks done out in the open, like, they dont care if people are eavesdropping? Seems to happen every year, and you dont hear teams complaining about it, so I have to assume its the agents or teams themselves handing this info out to select people for the fun of it?
Seems to me that Bolduc will probably start out on a lower line, and then if Laine doesn't perform maybe he moves up to the second line. Maybe that sort of pressure will encourage Laine too!
If i recall correctly, Bolduc played 1st line and 1st pp for the last stretch of the season and produced at about ppg rate.

The Blues would never have taken Dach for Bolduc. He has the durability of a champagne glass.
Kappo K can be a good helper in the AHL to develop the younger guys. Let Dobes come stay up at the beginning and see how it goes. You have options for goalie now if Dobes struggles…maybe give Fowler a crack at it or break the glass and put Kappo K in NHL. I think we are good shape with Goalies (and Defense), but we may not find that second center for a little while, meaning we are probably not getting a cup just yet. Patience is going to be important.

Bolduc move was brilliant! Fans are going to love the way this guy plays. 35+ games in the nhl as opposed to ahl is better for Dobes development. Habs still need a left hand centerman for faceoffs as only Florian fits that bill in the organization.
Assuming the cap issue is solved, ie trading Price’s contract or moving Matheson, and they do nothing else this summer, I personally won’t mind one bit if they open with this lineup:
Suzuki, Caufield, Slaf
Dach, Bolduc, Demidov
Kapanen, Newhook, Laine
Evans, Gallagher, Anderson
Ghule Dobson
Hutson Reinbacher
Xhekaj/Struble Carrier
Not only do I think they can give Dach another solid chance at this, I think it’s a smart play. If he can’t do well with two dynamic wingers, fine, move on. But if he hits like we all once thought he would…. Let’s go.

He’s a winger on this team. Habs already have Dach, Newhook, Beck, Kapanen and eventually Hage fighting for two center spots. Something has to give. Beck or Kapanen is the surplus trade chip that KH is dangling to find a veteran 2C that will provide a definite upgrade for a season or two.
NO WAY….. Marco… Huge Misread!! You put Kappo at NHL level. If he plays well you can have him as insurance as we do a playoff run. If our season goes south we FLIP KAPPO at Trade Deadline……… And we give Dobbes some more seasoning time.

– Dach if you want make it work with those two, you’re uses
– Demidov gets Slaf to play with, they should be able to insulate Kapanen

Feels like I am the only one who will truly miss Mailloux! I am very happy about Bolduc coming in but I think that we will regret trading Mailloux in a few years…

We need right handed defensemen and we gave one that is pretty good for a winger. Why not send Hutson to Anahiem for McTavish that would have been good. Fix a real problem at centre.

Heineman was on a 20 goals pace before getting injured. He’s got good offensive potential as well.
There are alot of unlnowns in this trade, Bolduc sample size for high scoring was very small, also we dont know what version of Dach we will get. If I was Hugo I would trade for 2C or at least make a push for Ehlers
Bolduc had a 16% shooting percentage , its not sustainable. He got most of his pts when neighbours was injured , stl plugged bolduc in his spot. Most of bolducs goals were on the pp he is not taking pp shots over laine and cauffield. Bolduc had a lowsey 1 assist in the 7 game series vs winnipeg where the blues scored 30 goals in that series and all boldyc had was a seconary assist…. mailoux will be playing 20mins a nigjt for the next 12 years …this is not a good trade for us at all
I think Bolduc will be a fan favourite within 15 games.
