Boston Bruins Sign Michael Eyssimont
[Music] Welcome back to BNG Hockey where it’s always black and gold. Well, folks, I’m not going to lie. The Tanner Jano signing kind of took the wind out of my sales, but I figured I wanted to talk about this player because I actually think it’s one of the few good signings from a day of a lot of poor decisions by Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins. The team signs forward Mikey Acimont to a 2-year deal with a cap hit of 1.4 million per season. For those of you who don’t remember this player, he was one of the players going back to the Kraken in the deal that brought Borkstrand and Yanni Gourd to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He’s a 28-year-old 6-foot centerman who mostly plays wing, but he is able to play on both wings, so a versatile player up front. He was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2016 draft, 142 overall to the LA Kings. Last season in 77 games he had nine goals, seven assists for a total of 16 points. And in 213 NHL games, he has 25 goals, 31 assists for a total of 56 points, and is a career plus 11. This is a player I noticed quite a bit when he was playing for the Tampa Bay Lightning. He could move up and down their lineup in a pinch. He’s an energy guy who’s a solid forcheer, brings good speed, and that’s something the Bruins lineup could desperately use. Just like Victor Arvinson, this is another player who shoots the puck quite a bit. You’d like to see it go in a bit more, but hey, we’ll take what we can get. And another player here who’s not afraid to throw a hit, but we better be getting plenty of hits from a guy like a Tanner Jano if he’s getting all that money from us. I do like that this is only a 2-year deal with a lower cap hit of just over a million per. I do hope that the Bruins flip some of these bottom six guys. you know that players would term on their deal at the deadline go for a bit more. And if the Bruins are going to be another bottom of the barrel team, I’d like to see us at least get some younger players or some draft assets back and maybe it makes a little bit more sense why we’ve signed about 900 bottom six forwards today. But that being said, this is probably the best of the bunch. That’s why I figured I’d make a quick video on it. But again, today was just really disappointing if you’re a Bruins fan. I know it wasn’t a very good free agent class, but Don did have money to play with and I was hoping we’d get a little better up front cuz honestly, I don’t know how much better we are than last year’s group and that’s scary. So, let me know your thoughts. What do you think of Mikey Asamont? Will he be able to help us out and be a better player than we’re expecting? Leave that down below in the comments. The Boston Bruins sign Michael Eyssimont. In this video I give my thoughts on Mikey Eyssimont as a player and look at his NHL career so far. Lastly I talk about Don Sweeney signing so many bottom six players and what that means for the Bruins roster moving forward.

I love this signing
I have no idea what Sweeney is doing
Like it for sure 💛🖤
I just don't get this front office lol like I get it wasn't that deep of a free agent class but one of our biggest needs is scoring. Like we had a decent amount of cap to play with and you spend it on bottom six forwards again? Like we couldn't have tried to get boeser or a guy like granlund at least? I dunno today was just so underwhelming.
I really enjoy your show.I noticed that you are constructing a lot more videos.Very informative 🇨🇦!
Again…..Disappointed……….
The Bruins will have the best fourth line in the league next season.
Boston is now "Tank City" – Sweeney
So sad the season hasn't even started yet & I am looking up Gavin Mckenna's numbers.
It’s crazy that jeannot got that contract
Why does it feel like Boston is again giving up on Lysell, Merkulov, and Poitras?
Sweeney should have been replaced years ago. He is very arrogant and seems like his only goal is to make the team functional by spending very few bucks. The fans in Boston are very loyal and he takes advantage of that. With the team he is building they will be lucky to win 40% of their games.
Of all the moves DS made today, this one is not bad at that price.
One Step Forward, Two Steps Back: The Boston Bruins Story
I think I'll be watching another team next season
The signings today are okay nothing that’s a big splash the tanner guy would’ve been better if it was cheaper he is physical he just needs to score more maybe by some luck of the imagination he scores more than his 20 combined goals in the past 3 seasons, we’ll see how this new bruins team is next season. I’m not gonna be one of them depressed people saying to tank, or the overly optimistic saying we’re playoff contenders, just gonna see what happens.
Let the tankathon begin!
Guys… we have all the bottom 6 guys in the league
Honestly I like their first, third and fourth lines. Too bad their second line is more of a third
Just a brutal signing with Jeannot….why not save the $$$ until next year?
