BREAKING: San Jose Sharks Select Joshua Ravensbergen 30th Overall, MOST TALENTED Goalie in Class?

The San Jose Sharks have made a long-term investment in their goaltending, selecting top prospect Joshua Ravensbergen with the 30th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft! This high-upside pick addresses a crucial future need for the rebuilding Sharks.

Ravensbergen, a towering 6’5″ right-catching goaltender from the Prince George Cougars (WHL), is widely considered the best netminder in the draft class. He combines imposing size with excellent athleticism and poise under pressure, filling the net and making game-changing saves. While goalies take time to develop, Ravensbergen’s strong technical foundation, mental toughness, and ability to track pucks make him a potential franchise cornerstone.

  1. Ravensbergen won't be in NHL till 2030 tbh, great spacing between him and Asky because if Asky is an elite goalie in 2030 then you have a back up for a couple seasons and then can see who wins a potential goalie battle.

  2. Not a shock. Bit if surprise

In a draft with a lot of question marks, a goalie makes more sense. Still with Spence and Fiddler both there, would have thought they'd taken one of the two. They ned the RHD and Fiddler was ranked in the 20's while Spence is a GMMG sort and was ranked around 20th overall.
