I think it's a success. We are seeing the post OV Caps start to develop. Seeing the young players take big steps forward is huge. Avoiding the prolonged rebuilds like Blackhawks, Sharks, ect…. I think we would have had a much better shot at beating Florida then Carolina. Just a real bad matchup.
I agree with the guy who said if we matched up with the leafs or panthers we woulda won
I just listened to them say "we need to still rely on our vets Ovi and Carlson"… that's the problem right there. Those two had NO legs in that final series. Ovi looked slow motion all series and brought down Strome, and Carlson just nothing on D. Those two need to be playing less minutes and being more teachers.
to be fair, the canes were expected to fall off dramatically this year and they made easy work of the caps.
Ovi breaking the record makes it a complete success
It was a bust……scoring production dropped off so dramatically we weren't the same team…..Canes defensive game shut us down
You could see in this final series that the goal chase has Ovi worn out at 39
At least we won a series 4-1, that’s a win compared to last year.
I'm happy we have our coach in Carbery at least, hopefully will continue to set us up for the future 💯💯

This whole idea of not a success is so dumb. Preseason predictions and analytics would have told you the Caps were a lottery team. We are all emotionally attached to Ovi and we should be. Look at this team, look at the prospects, we have made it out of the rebuild without really rebuilding. Enjoy this year, enjoy next year. We can give Ovi the respect he deserves, but the way that the front office has put pieces together to form a competent team was amazing. This was an absolutely success of a season.
