The Rangers got their man by signing coveted free agent defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov out of Los Angeles shortly after the market opened at noon.
The contract for the 29-year-old Russian, who is slated to become Adam Fox’s partner on what should be the club’s matchup pair, comes in at $49 million for seven years, taking less money to come to Broadway.
Now, though, we find out if there is added cost to this signing that will reverberate on a potential offer sheet for Will Cuylle while GM Chris Drury and the hierarchy continue to sift through trade possibilities for K’Andre Miller. Cuylle and Miller became restricted free agents on Tuesday.
