Pat Verbeek on Signing Mikael Granlund & Hiring Coach Jay Woodcroft | Anaheim Ducks Press Conference

Anaheim Ducks signed 33-year-old Finnish center Mikael Granlund to a three-year contract on the opening day of free agency, with the deal reportedly coming in at $7 million per season. Granlund provides stability to the Ducks’ middle six forward with back-to-back 60-point campaigns and three in the last four seasons.

Ducks also hired Jay Woodcroft as an assistant coach, after interviewing him for the head coaching position that was taken by Joel Quenneville. Woodcroft will run the power play, and Ryan McGill will run the penalty kill.

  1. I don’t understand how people are still optimistic with this guy. He talked a ‘big game plan’ for this year and last years free agency and he whiffs completely.

  2. this doesn't inspire massive confidence but it's hard to tell bc he's keeping it close to his chest

  3. Probably you’re gonna get fired either at the middle of the season if he doesn’t work out or are you going to get fired at the end of the season? I think you need to start packing your stuff because you are the worst GM in this NHL history.
