Let’s face it this free agency sucked, the top players either resigned with their teams or a sign and trade, ehlers is the only good free agent who isn’t worth overpaying for, I’m glad we have depth, it’s pretty simple if we’re good this year we use Colorado’s pick to get us a top 6 forward, if we’re not in contention then we sell and next season will have so much space and guys like Ritchie, Schaffer and possibly eiserman ready to become regulars on rookie contracts, don’t forget Isaac Howard could still be a possibility.
Yeah, Big Save Dave is an Islander too. I think I heard that somewhere. He's a good guy. I watched him a lot in his Calgary days. He was a good back up for the Flames, but that was 8 or 9 years ago. When he had to take over as the starter, it was too much for him, so you have to hope Sorokin stays healthy.
This fanbase is brain dead…..we arent winning the cup in the next year the goal is to be competitive for a few years until these young kids develop……good signing.

Pageau shouldn't be moved out until the trade deadline, Lee and Cizikas as well. Not sure how, but it would be good to get out of the contract with Duclair, Engvall, Mayfield and then perhaps Pelech at the trade dead line, too. If Darche can pull that all off and walk away with some draft picks for Pageau and Lee, then I'd say the Isles are making a turn to their new identity.
Our GM is switched on. You can tell he knows how to build and manage a cap. He's buying time for younger prospects to step in. He'd prob spend more money when the player makes sense but very happy with all his moves to date

We have too many NHL fringe players. You have to hope some of these guys play tremendous well, and you can move them at trade deadline.
