Oilers management is almost inept. What the hell are they even doing? Nurse and Bouch making 20M AAV is laughable. When will they get a fucking netminder!?! They should have also dealt Bouch for a better defensive dman. Yikes!

I'm not sure that free agency solves many of the Oilers' issues. The Oilers only have three open spots at forward as I see it. I think Tomasek is going to fill one of those, leaving only two open spots. I think Draisaitl needs a winger to play with, perhaps acquired through trade. Here's the forward group:

If the Oilers can fill a positional need without a significant overpay through free agency, then they should add. Otherwise, it is almost always wiser to acquire players through trades and to see how things fill out in training camp and the pre-season.
I just cant help to feel the team isnt much better right? Like maybe im a debbie downer on this, but losing perry, kane, arvi and skinner and barely have a signing. Like obviously everyone is overpriced, but i did hope a boeser was maybe doable even tho that was unrealistic. Still hope they can do some good business to add. Like now it feels that the offense, defense and goalies are still not good enough to win in the end.
So we only lost players and didn't add any for the immediate future? They're going need more than just a new goaltender to compete in this new league

It would be smart for the Oilers to have a handful of 6 mil guys, doesn’t help when the top players don’t take team friendly deals so they can win the cup.

If you think that losing Kane, Perry, Brown, Arvidsson or any of those meh players will affect playoff performances, please go be a leaf fans. They're all replaceable nobodies. We don't need that kind of dumb facebook drama.
The difference is. When you get a 1 mill guy and expect something from them you probably already have it in the AHL and all these small fish play good when asked alone for a short stretch especially when they come from the AHL and don’t have pressure to succeed on one of the hardest teams to play on and our adjust too. Aka what Ty says about making a splash instead of get a 1-2 mill guy expecting unrealistic things from them. We have those guys in our system and in our line up already
A team that got better is Anaheim lol. My boy killorn is playing player coach trust😉 but they did get better
To get who they need then there is going to need to be a big trade. Nurse, Eck or RNH? Henrique moving would be helpful.

Perry and Brown earned those raises and could not have been better during this run. I wish them nothing but success, my concern is there is literally nothing right now. Will Rust come from Pittsburgh or something similar?
Dude you do NOT get to rail Perry for not taking less when neither Drai nor Bouchard took less. You can spare me the 1 mil or so Drai "left on the table". Your core pieces aren't taking less. Look at Florida. That's why they're stacking cups and the Oilers are approaching Buffalo Bills status in oh-fors. And I doubt any big trades are coming. Seriously, nobody wants Nurse, no assets aside from him, and the whole league smells blood in the water in Edmonton. The whole league knows if the Oil underachieve this year then 97 is on the table. And every free agent looking for a multi year deal knows that if they fail next year the 97 is gone and they're stuck in Edmonton with the blame.
No Holloway at 2.4, no Perry at 2.4. Perry, the 5th most productive player in the playoffs isn't worth keeping, but all that deadweight is. Wow, Bowman/Jackson really know how to destroy a contender, which i was when Holland left. And to add insult to injury, Perry has been taken off the Oilers NHL site. And now they will be saying "Stu is our guy", so get ready for a Gdam Debacle.
