tonight google doll’s members johnny resnik and robbie tak are on the record with the ninth pick [Applause] all right with the ninth overall selection in the 2025 nhl draft the buffalo sabres are proud to select from the seattle thunderbirds raheem bertka this is the kind of guy they need they’ve been tending to draft skill after skill after skill maybe some soft skill this guy isn’t high-end skill megan but he brings a strength and gnarliness that they need in buffalo
do they need more d though i’m just going to throw that out there i want the buffalo sabres to be back in the playoffs but murka and the defenseman like him i think it’s a bit of a reach he has sides in skating he is a standout and his biggest strength is his defensive play but they have two number one defenseman on their league on their team right now

raw as can be you know he was in his pro league in europe wasn’t playing much in the men came over to seattle did well at first but uh still so much room to develop but it was interesting i caught up with kevin adams their gm this week and a critical area he and lindy ruff agreed will be an emphasis in training camp we’ve got to be harder to play against now they’ve revamped their strength into conditioning program they brought in a huge name comes from the us development national team ryan gallivan director of sports science for usa hockey at world junior so we’re going to see them build up that identity
