The Boston Bruins just signed Tanner Jano to a fiveyear$17 million contract at 3.5 AAV. I’m gonna talk about it. So, buckle up Bruins fans. And let’s get into it. I hadn’t even finished putting I honestly I hadn’t even left. I was just finishing touches, uploading the video, and then all of a sudden my phone starts going crazy, and I see that the Boston Bruins, you know what? I’m not even going to say the Boston Bruins. Cam Neely has signed Tanner, Jano. I I don’t get this one. I’m I I know he’s going to be a fan favorite because guess what he does? He does exactly what Trent Frederick did and he punches people in the face. He’s at 3.5 million 3.4 million as a cap hit. He’s 27. He recorded seven goals, 13 points in 67 games last season with the Los Angeles Kings. He missed the last 14 games of the regular season the with the first round against the Oilers with an undisclosed injury. He’s 6’2. He just came off a 5.3 million contract with an annual cap hit of 2.664 million. Um he was great in Nashville. I’ll give him that. So let’s let’s just break this one down. And I know I’m doing this off the cuff again. Um in his first year in the league, he played 15 games with the Predators, five goals, two assists, seven points, and then he got here’s his one good year. This is it. 2122 81 games, 24 goals, 17 assists for 41 points, plus two, 130 penalty minutes cuz he plays the game tough. I I’ll give him that. But I just I look at this Boston Bruins roster and this is just another guy to play in the bottom six. Th I don’t get it. We need goal scoring. So, we go out and get Tanner Jano. This has to be Cam Neely. Like, every season we do this. What do we Last season we did this. We signed a whole bunch of guys. We just finally traded Trent Frederick. And what are we doing? We’re bringing the Trent Frederick clone back into the lineup. The Lightning paid a ransom to get him years ago in uh 2223 and he did nothing there for two seasons. And then again in Los Angeles last year, he did nothing. He’s averaging around 11 minutes a night. Well, you know, let’s see what they say. Jano became known as the Oxbow Ox when his hometown Oxbow Saskatchewan recognized his physical nature. He played major junior hockey for the Moose Jaw in the Western League. And he was signed by the Nashville Predators as an undrafted free agent in the three-year entry- level contract in April 2nd, 2018. I I can’t pretend that I’m happy about this one. I know that I’m going to see everybody in the comments either saying that they’re extremely happy because he’s a punch people in the face type guy or they’re going to be not happy because Bruns need help on the right side. And this is just a guy that’s going to clog up and not allow guys like Mercury, Lysel, or Matthew Potra to make the lineup. I’m going to put it out there. By the end of the season, he’s playing in Providence and no one’s going to claim him when they have to put him down on the waiverss to send him down to Providence. I I don’t get this one. It just makes no sense. They did this last off season. They hired a bunch of goons and they got them to come in and they didn’t work out and now they’re taking a chance. So, let’s let’s look at this. He’s at what did I say that contract was at? It’s at um 3.4 million. Pull up Puck Pedia here and see what their cap is at cuz Brock Besser just resigned with Vancouver. So, there’s no other guys that you can go out and get. Even though I would have been happy with Connor Brown, but no, no, that’s not what we do. Tanner, you know, so the Boston Bruins now have $5.3 million in cap space. I don’t know. This one bothers me. I’m not going to lie. I I can’t even make up what I think he’s going to do. Left winger playing in the bottom six. So, what’s he going to do? Well, let’s see. You let Galob Bloo go who would have been probably under a million dollars to bring in Tanner Jano. I just I don’t get it. I I understand Victor Arvdson. I totally get that. But Tanner Jano, he’s a left shot. Yes, he plays the left wing and the right wing, but he’s 26 years old. I just 28 years old. I I don’t get it. I I don’t get this. I don’t get this signing. This is This is backwards for me. And a five-year deal for that matter. You couldn’t have got this guy on a one-year deal. No, you wanted to lock him up for five. That’s frustrating. This makes no sense. You’ve just clogged up like Husadino. Like all these guys that I would rather Matthew Potra, Fabian Lysel, much rather give them ice time than Tanner Jano. I’m sorry. I I can’t be positive about this honestly. The Boston Bruins have signed unrestricted free agent forward Tanner Jeannot to a five-year, $17 million contract.

The contract carries a cap hit of $3.4 million.

Jeannot, 27, recorded seven goals and 13 points in 67 games last season with the Los Angeles Kings. He missed the last 14 games of the regular season and the entire six-game, first-round series against the Edmonton Oilers with an undisclosed injury.

The 6-foot-2 winger is coming off a two-year, $5.33 million contract with an annual cap hit of $2.664 million.

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Nashville Predators in 2018, Jeannot has 49 goals and 93 points in 294 career games split between the Predators, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Kings.
