hello everyone welcome back in today’s video we’ve got another quick update video here we saw four signings happen yesterday including one trade that I never got around to touching on yesterday so on all five of these interesting updates coming up right now [Music] hello everyone welcome back to another video here at the end to end hockey channel now before we get started don’t forget to like this video and subscribe below thank you for all of your support i would never be able to do this without all of you guys so if you haven’t already don’t forget to subscribe button down below don’t for leave a comment we’re on the road to 1,000 subscribers don’t forget to stay tuned for Tuesday’s live stream at 9:30 a.m mountain time talking about the draft free agency and all things in between so very interesting out there but today’s video we just completed the second round of the draft and very interesting out there but I’m also going to be doing here just a quick recap video we saw four signings I never really did in-depth analysis on plus we also saw an interesting trade between the Jackets and the Avalanche that was also a very interesting one last night involving some players so I want to touch on all these things here in today’s video so we’re going to start with the four signings I missed last night the first one was in Columbus as they signed Hunter Macauen who was one of those undrafted college players came over from college a couple of years back he had a new contract he was an RFA he’s a center prospect he can play on the wing he’s 22 years old he gets a one-year contract extension with the AEV of $800,000 now Macauan just after signing his new deal wound up playing in 12 NHL games with Columbus putting up two assists last year play his first proseason getting 24 points in 53 AHL games and this past year had 13 goals 30 points career highs in 64 AHL games i think long-term account might be able to work into like something like a bottom six player i don’t think he’ll ever be like a top end talent there in Columbus but I do think he has the potential to be a decent third or fourth liner so one year $800,000 probably will play mostly the AHL level this year could be a call-up option solid pickup here for the Blue Jackets signing him to a one-year deal then we saw the Buffalo Sabres sign one of their pending RFAS as winger Jack Quinton who’s 23 years old right now coming off a pretty dang good season he’s had some injury troubles over the past couple of years but still looks like a guy who’s going to be a very solid top six forward in the future for the Buffalo Sabres signed a 2-year contract extension with AV of 3.375 million that’s not a bad contract in my opinion for Quinn quinn’s been playing at the NHL level over the past couple of years two years ago had an injury real season where he only had nine goals and 19 points in 27 games this past year end up putting up a career-high 15 goals and a career-high 39 points in 74 games but I don’t think he’s reached his potential yet i think Quinn has the potential to be a solid 20 to 25 goal scorer and a solid like 60 65 point player so I think that’s Quinn’s potential so 3.375 for a top six forward who seems like he has 20 goal and 50 at least maybe even 60 point potential it’s not overly bad i definitely think for the Savers team where they are right now two years at 3.375 for Quinn ain’t overly bad so a solid sign there for the Buffalo Sabres then we saw another Vegas Gold Knights penning UFA come back as winger Brennan Su came over in the Vegas Golden Knights organization mid-season after he was bought out his contract was terminated by St louis Blues signs a one-year contract extension with the Vegas Golden Knights with the AV of $2 million so I was a little bit surprised i thought Sad would have definitely hit free agency but he doesn’t here he’s 32 years old so he’s a little bit on the older side but had a pretty good season last year with Vegas he wound up having six goals and 14 points which is a goal and two points shy of his total with St louis but he played 14 less games so he was on pace to probably hit around the 15 to 20 goal mark and probably around the 35 to 50 point mark if he was to play an entire season with Vegas so Sak could be a decent middle six guy i don’t think he’s going to be a great point producer at this point in time but it’s a one-year contract it’s only $2 million for a middle six veteran who knows how to score and knows what it takes to win there’s not a bad contract there for the Vegas Golden Knights so very interesting sign there but SAD is now staying in Vegas and then we saw one of the premium Florida Panthers UFAS stay in the Florida organization as Sam Bennett the center left-winger has helped the Florida Panthers win back-to-back Stanley Cups he’s 29 years old there’s a lot of people who are speculating that should he hit the open market he will get 10 plus million on a AAV but he has actually taken a little bit of a discount and stayed with the Florida Panthers as they have signed him to an 8 by8 deal 8 years at $8 million that’s a pretty dang good pickup here for Bennett now it’s a little bit of an overpayment in my opinion yes he set 40 goals in each of the past four seasons which were all career highs he had 49 21 22 40 and 22 23 41 and 23 24 and this year had a careerhigh 51 points and nearly a careerhigh in goals with 25 so very good stuff there he’s turned into a solid player who can put up like 20 to 25 goals can put up between 45 and 55 points maybe his ceiling could still be 60 he’s not overly old but he’s on the younger side either he’s 29 years old now so this contract will take him until 37 so I think for the first three four maybe even five seasons of this contract it’ll look pretty good even though he’s an $8 million guy who hasn’t even hit 60 points yet but I definitely think for what he brings especially his presence in the playoffs that will be a really good contract there for the Panthers but I definitely think maybe towards the end of this contract won’t be overly great for the Florida Panthers but still at that point they probably will have already a couple of cups if not a couple more so I think they’ll be all right with that so very interesting note there but Sam Bennett has also signed an extension he’s staying in Florida those are our four signings from our past couple of days and next here going over to a trade we saw yesterday so we went over the Dobson trade in a previous video you guys can check it out after the Dobson video just before my live draft stream there was another trade and I wanted to touch on this one too so the Blue Jackets and Avalanche made a trade the trade is as follows number 23 I think on the N10 hockey trade bay list charlie Coyle as well as Miles Wood were dealt to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a 2025 third round pick gavin Brinley and a conditional 2027 second round pick i’m not exactly sure what the condition is on that second round pick for the Colorado Avalanche this is an interesting deal coyle is 33 years old in the final year of his deal at a $5.25 million capage so it’s an interesting pickup here for the Jackets he can play on the wing he should be able to be a solid Milix guy play on either the second or the third line he’s a veteran knows what it takes to win this past year had a combined 35 points including 17 goals in 83 games with the Avalanche and Bruins combined which was way below what his previous points were with Boston where he had 60 points the year prior and then hit 40 in each of the other seasons so very interesting note there that he took a little step back this year and Columbus I could see him be a solid middle six guy he’s a veteran presence on a younger team so I think that could also be a smart move there for the Jackets to add so very interesting note there but they get Charlie Coyle who was 23rd on the end hockey trade bait list i think could be a decent middle sex guy they also get Miles Wood what has four seasons left on his contract at $2.5 million he’s a leftwinger very speedy guy he can kill penalties he can produce some speed into the lineup he should be a really solid bomb six forward has had some injury trills over the past couple of years he’s 29 years old so like four more years at $2.5 million might not age well for a 29year-old this past year only have four goals and eight points in 36 games but if he can stay healthy he can be a solid 25 to 30 point player potentially put up like 10 to 15 maybe a 20 goal season is in the works for Wood and they’re going to have them for a couple of years so very interesting note there but the Jackets do get a couple of very interesting players in Wood and Coyle you know for the Avalanche they got a pretty dang good pickup here so they get the 2025 third rounder which wound up being number 77 overall in this draft that just went by they got conditional 2027 second hour they could use that as trade fodder they could try and pick someone down the line so we shall see what happens with that pick and they get Gavin Brinley brinley’s in the final year of his ELC he’s a right winger he’s 20 years old doesn’t have very much NHL experience as he only had one game of NHL action last year but this year had six goals in 16 points in 48 games over in Cleveland of the AHL his first full pro season so very interesting note there but I definitely think this is a very fantastic pickup here for the Colorado Avalanches i think eventually Brinley has the potential to be a very solid middle six if not maybe even top six player and a playmaker at that for the Colorado Avalanche so very interesting to note there but some very interesting trade here as the Jackets acquire Coyle and Wood and the Avalanche acquire a third round 25 conditional second and 27 and Brinley and I do think in this deal the Avalanche win it because they only clear calf space but they get Brinley and a couple of really dang good picks and even though I do think Coil and Wood could work out well for the Jackets I definitely think the Avalanche win this deal so definitely that’s all the updates on the past couple of days from last night and taking this video Saturday afternoon so defining lots of very intriguing trades here i definitely love to hear thoughts who do you think won the Jackets avalanche deal whether the Avalanche or whether the Jackets and what do you think of the Bennett Sad Quinn and Macau signing your thoughts off that down in the comment section below that’s all I’m going to talk for today remember to like this video and if you like to subscribe below thank you for all of your support i would never be able to do this without all of you guys so if you haven’t
