With their third pick in the first round, the Pittsburgh Penguins have added a blend of size, skill, and strong hockey bloodlines to their prospect pool, selecting Will Horcoff with the 24th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft!
Horcoff, a 6’4″, 181-pound center/winger from the University of Michigan, is the son of former NHLer Shawn Horcoff. He’s a big-bodied power forward known for his relentless work ethic, physicality, and strong net-front presence. Despite modest offensive numbers (10 points in 18 NCAA games), his high compete level, defensive reliability, and willingness to engage physically make him an intriguing prospect.

Zonnan and Horcoff are going to murder people and own the front of the net
none of the draft pick are guaranteed it’s wait and see
Potter youre not a penguin
Horcoff is an Interesting pick
Botched draft
3 first round picks, this reminds me of when Boston whiffed on their 3 picks in a row a few years ago.
Dubas’s big brain clouded his judgement.
My take on them selecting Will is that he's a generic Brady T but on center!! He's big and tough but i think we wiffed on selecting a dman this draft as this years draft was loaded with tough and talented defenders and would've loved to have either Smith or Kashawn tbh !! Regardless..welcome to the burgh Will !!
When I here u say hunter that your ok with the draft so far that's not good, this is a very important offseason for pens and it can't be just ok.
Remembering Pens fans, everyone of us are: 1, not scouts 2, it's the draft, and other than the certain picks, i.e., Crosby, McDavid, Lindros, etc, etc 3, we have excellent scouting system and what they may see is completely be different then ours. Soooo much more to go with drafting, developing, trades, etc over the next year or couple years before we get a chance to gauge things (even slightly) All we can do is hope in this direction of Dubas & co. Lets back him and cheer on Sid and the boys!!!
We dont know what Dubas has in store for the pens, maybe some trades so pump the brakes a bit, he added some size and grit to the line up only time will tell if it was the right choice
Dumbass has to let people know he is always the smartest person in the room. All picks are mid to bottom 6 and 3rd pair Dmen. 13 picks might get a bottom 6 player but thats it. PATHETIC!!!
This is a pretty weak draft class, so it’s really hard to say who’s gonna work out and who isn’t beyond perhaps the top five.
