So i take in the next 4 years jj peterka will more than likely win a stanley cup. Thank you Sabres for being the farm team for the rest of the NHL. A team we never knew could be so valuable to other teams and miserable to root for.

Being a sabres "fan", i feel bad for players like Dalhin, Tage, and Tuch for having to drag the ideas of Kevyn and Terry around the ice like actual boat anchors.
Lets look at good old Terry's track record:
-Bought the team and came in after "moneypucking" the whole life of the past owner (Golissano, the individual who mandated "no in season extensions" that resulted in Co-captains Danny B. And Chris Drury both leaving july first for nothing btw, god this org sucks)
-Proceeded to claim "if i need more money ill drill another well" at his introductory press conference.
-brought in christain erhoff, ville leino (ick! Litterly paid the player that eliminated you last playoffs and he immediately turned into the rottenest of pumpkins) spent to the cap
-decided they needed to rebuild (they did, cool)
-2014, theyre really bad get pick 2, Samson Reinhart.
So far, so ok. Disappointing spending to the cap didnt seem to help, the core was too weak so they correctly identified they needed to strengthen it. But then:
-2015. Any warm body winning games upsets tim murray. He shamelessly ships out any player who steals a win on a god awful team. The season of "The chicago game" where fans cheered the blackhawks scoring at sabres home. They "win" the chance to select eichel, add RoR, lenner, kane is coming as he was traded for earlier. A LOT of draft capitol went out the door, in one of the strongest touted drafts, but we got NHL players!
-It quickly became apparent that while the Eichels, Reinos and RoRs were something special, the depth was also something special…..in the negative, especially when you zoom into the defense. And theres no help coming, because the lower level or the organization was stripped bare getting those too few established NHLers.
-they had a decent core up front, ullmark, top defenseman Rasmus Ristolainin (….uh oh) and nobody else. Suprise, suprise when 4 players are all you can count on and the rest are glorified AHL bottom 4/6ers, your going to lose a lot of hockey games leading to…..
-RoR loses his love for the game. A soundbite that will haunt this team forever. Terry, in all his expertise demands RoR is traded (speculative, but reasons to believe exist, since he was due a big signing bonus on july 1st, similar to the type that buffalo refuses to hand out now 🤔) hes traded just before the bonus kicks in, allegedly weakening the return.
-one of the NHLers in the return is upset and feels his no trade clause was violated at the time of the trade. He refuses to report.
-fired Botterill, who stepped into an org that had NO amateur departement, NO prospects to speak of, NO depth in the NHL and disgruntled growing stars through his tenure, because he refused to fire support staff at the onset of the pandemic.
-in comes kevyn adams who promptly fires everyone who hes mandated to, including parts of the scouting department, downsizing in most every way imaginable.
-now we have every year "were close, run it back" while constantly picking in the top 10. Free agency always passes with fringe player here, fringe player there, now we just let the kids grow! "THE ANSWER IS IN THE ROOM" (Terry Pegula: 2024-2025 season during a then 8 game (i think) losing streak which then stretched to 13)
He doesnt know what hes doing while being convinced he does (Terry) and its ruined the team near a decade ago and continues to hold them at the bottom.
he says it’s misinformation but then two days later the players that were rumored to be on the trading block that he claims is part of misinformation get traded so clearly its not misinformation if theres insiders finding out about the locker room to be asking these questions
