The 2025 NHL Draft is behind us, and Danny Briereâs Philadelphia Flyers selected quite a haul. Despite mixed reviews on the trade up to #12 for Jack Nesbitt, the additions of Porter Martone and a slew of 2nd round picks including Carter Amico and Shane Vansaghi have resulted in high marks from the nation media for Briereâs 3rd draft as general manager.
Charlie & Bill dive into each pick from the weekend, before discussing whatâs left on the Flyguysâ to-do list, with the new league year and free agency opening on Tuesday July 1.

I love how Phil Myers has become a reference for either players that have very little hockey IQ, or defenseman who have a large frame and can skate really well đ a positive and a negative
This front office did a great job at the draft. Now, itâs time to trade AND hit the Free Agency Market. Iâm hoping for someone like Seider, Bouchard, or Ekblad for the defense. For goalie, take a chance on Devon Levi, Jesper Wallstadt, Askarov, or Spencer Knight. Center is way tougher currently, but a trade for aliksei Protas would be incredible, as well as Suter in free agency since he did well under Tocchet last year!

Martone is going to be the best pick outside of Michkov that the flyers make in some time. I think Zegras and Mich are going to âunlockâ each other and itâs going to happen fast. Then 26-27 Martone arrives , Jett solidifies his role and we add a FA or 2 with the cap space weâll have. Then 27-28 when Zavragin gets here we will be ready to contend.

I think hearing Tocc the other day talk about wanting the team to be comfortable holding onto the puck and not dumping it when under pressure, and wanting to attack the blue line speaks volumes about his willingness to create a plan of attack based on his players and not trying to force his players to do something that doesnât fit them. Iâm excited

Regarding Hagens, heâs a Long Island guy, and potentially did not want Philly.
After Gautier canât afford that potential possibility.
Come on Charlie, Nesbitt was not picked for today.
Heâs very young, will get stronger, and we be a much better skater in 2-3 years. Big guys beat up little guys.
