The part that I haven't heard discussed yet is that maybe there were better offers out there for Peterka, but those teams making the offers wanted to make sure he signed an extension first. Maybe Peterka said no to extensions for those teams, but yes to Utah.
Buffalo is done with guys that are cowards, I love this trade!!!!!!!

I think Kesselring is underrated and has huge value at 1,4m cap hit. He`s a big RD that can skate and pass. How many of those guys are in the league and available?
Edmonton still regrets trading him for Bjugstad back at the deadline 2,5 years ago.
Peterka is a good player, but he had some streaks where he didn`t score much and maybe BUF sold high here.
How about BUF taking on Arvidsson from EDM? That`s exactly what they are looking for. A gritty, experienced winger, that forechecks hard and works his ass off. On top he`s in a contract year, might be able to replace JJ, not scoring wise but overall. Would cost a late round pick.
Another thing, if the Leafs and Tavares can`t agree on a deal, Bufallo isn`t far and the family can stay in Toronto.
BUF needs leadership, needs at least some veterans that have played though minutes.
Finally a guy with some logic and reason and not just knee jerk click-bait reactions. With his total lack of defensive awareness, JJ Peterka is not worth 7.7 million. They guys they got are going to help this team in areas they needed the most, grit and toughness.
