It's obvious he doesn't want to be here. He will go to another team and perform better there than he ever will here, which is unfortunate. Getting something back would be optimal.If the situation is keeping a player that will underperform versus room to get a player that will be a better fit, then it's a no brainer in my opinion. You cheated on the answer bud. You're assuming we can get an "astronomical" return for him. Clearly they can't, so if they got back an underwhelming return then what? If they could have traded him for Barzal for instance, they would have. How about Mikael Granlund? Would you do that trade?

Pettersson is radio active. They can't give him away with that contract. Why did they re-sign him during such a shitty season. He isn't liked on the team, bad guy to have in dressing room and he was softer than Puppy Poop. The whole league knows he's afraid of his own shadow and the plain fact is he is all about himself and isn't prepared to sacrifice everything to win. This team needs to get more Canadian players. All of the final 8 teams had minimum 12 Canadian players on their Rosters. Edmonton had 18 and Florida had 14. Canuck's have 3 now that Kane has joined the team. Boston had 2 and Detroit 3
