The Winnipeg Jets have invested in their future defense, selecting highly-touted, very mobile and very young blueliner Sascha Boumedienne with the 28th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft!
Boumedienne, a 6’2″ left-shot defenseman from Boston University (NCAA), is known for his elite skating, smooth puck-moving ability, and strong transition game. He’s a cerebral player who excelled in his freshman NCAA season, demonstrating poise with the puck and the ability to contribute offensively (13 points in 40 games). While still developing his physical game as one of the youngest players in the NCAA this season, he may be at Boston University a few more seasons but has grown his game already in one season in the brutal Hockey East conference.
