  1. Well its nice to see you are feeling so positive. This draft has really sent me the opposite direction. I think we are very very far from being a good team again. And i think this draft did not bring us any closer to that. Dubas and Wes did what they enjoy doing, they go for their targets that they personally like, and disregard every other team and scouts projections of the best player around each draft position. And i think its proven that the hidden gem, the "risky"player is rarely the way to go. Its better to take the most proven player over your "feelings" or "beliefs".

I think at this point we are where the Redwings were about 6-9 years ago. And Detroit hasnt made it past the 1st round in 13 years, they havnt made the playoffs in 9 years. Under Yzerman they havn't made the playoffs in all 6 years. Yzerman is a lot like Dubas actually. Id say Yzerman and Draper is as close as you can get to Dubas and Clark. Yzerman likes taking big chances in the draft too at times, and when he takes those chances it usually doesnt work out. He also likes grabbing a lot of draft picks, especially in his first couple years. 11 draft picks and 12 draft picks in his first 2 years. Could Dubas pull off a miracle? its possible, but not likely. This draft, its put things in perspective for me. We have many years before the Penguins are a legit good team. We're talking probably 6-8 years, maybe 10 before we win a playoff series. Thats a long time when you think of how old you are today, where you will be by then. Not trying to be too much of a downer, but just being realistic. And this draft is a bad one to me. Though i did like the Charlie Trethewey pick. He reminds me of Charlie McAvoy in a bunch of ways. Style of play, name, college hes going to play for, height, weight. Its crazy.

  2. Dubas draft strategy: high IQ, offensive skill normally undersized. Viewing size as something that could be gotten through trades.
In 2020 Dubas had 12 picks. Similar idea then build organization depth and trade pieces. At the time people were really positive about the approach the picks and the possibility.
5 years later no player has played in the NHL, non are expected. And top pick and 2nd rounder were used in trades.
Time will tell however track record with Dubas and Clark is that they generally don’t draft a lot of players that become contributing nhlers. They have produced below average compared to other teams and GMs.
2020 has become the worst draft year for the former Dubas team.
The consensus view around the league is that Pittsburgh reached on many players, and picked many players whose ceilings are low (depth players) and the ones who could have higher ceilings they aren’t expected to be ready for 4-6 years.

  3. Linards Feldbergs, Latvian talent full goalie joins Pittsburgh development camp. He was not selected in the draft. Let's see how will going.

  4. Hey tomorrow may never come and I feel like we're not gonna be back in the playoffs till 2039, so where are fans to buy in, pirates yeah swept mets but there going nowhere and steelers are happy in the middle what the heck has happen to the city of champions, look we dont live forever thats why fans want to win now since we all are on borrowed time and we want a winner or to compete now

  5. People hate this draft because they didn't draft the guys the message board dorks wanted.

They've never been to a game to watch any of these players play.
