Matheson is still a productive hockey player for the habs. He played so many minutes last year. His contract isn't a huge hit, and we would easily get dollar value from him for the remainder of his contract. I like having the depth at defense that we have. It allows us to be productive at D all game long.
Also, what's wrong with Dach as a center?
It seems like we're setting up a situation where we overpay for some offensive talent that may not play as well in montreal as they have in the past. We have a pretty good team with standouts like Suzuki and Hutson, and we're looking to build on it.
I would love a great second line center, but in no way should we be thinking it is impossible for Dach to be that guy, right?
Kyrou would be one hell of a pick up
..sadly..Dach appears brittle..one "last" chance…if interest is shown..move him..

Who gets the boot to make room for Kyrou? He is great. But, I only see it causing a logjam on the wing
How can you stay with a straight face that the Habs development staff will be able to make this guy a future Had player. They are already undersized with legit NHLers. There is no place for him here so wjy not develp somebody that will be a future Hab. It is way more cap-friendly to develop your own players than to trade for them. Let's get some balanced analysis here.
