Oil not getting rid of their longest tenured most versatile player on a great deal. If for some reason they did the return would need to be a lot more than matheson.
I liked the vinnie damphouse trade edm to mtl. And the muller trade from nj to mtl. We know what that helped.

As a Oiler fanI would not be against this but Nuge has a no movement clause and I think he took a pay cut to stay so it's unlikely he is going anywhere.
Matheson is worth more than Nugent-Hopkins.
For Oilers, put the focus on goaltending. I like Matheson, but he coughs up the puck WAY TOO MUCH. Do not give up Nuge, that would a fleece for Montreal. If i were a GM, I would not trade for him.
If I was Oilers gm, I would try to get a few of the Islanders defenseman, with Lou being gone and them being in a rebuild. Oilers could use a Ryan Pulock or Scott Mayfield.
