2025 NHL Draft: Noah Laberge interview (Buffalo)
well how was it sitting here just kind of waiting wondering not knowing what could happen
uh it was just a lot stressful you know as as the names came down uh you know the stress was going up but I was confident in myself that I I would go on and I would get picked so at the end it was all worth it
was anybody family friends saying anything to you to kind of keep your spirits up
yeah well I think I think most of my family was more stressed than me so I don’t think they they were helping me a lot on that but you know I was just so confident that you know I I I knew I was going to get picked
what do you bring to the Buffalo Sabres
uh I bring a a smart defenseman that you know skates really well with the puck i bring a lot of good first passes a great shot i think at the offensive blue line I’m really good with the puck in find lanes shoot and I I think I got a really good shot to score and uh yeah that’s pretty much it
where can you still get better where are you going to what are you going to work on coming up here in the summer uh one of the things that that I want to work on is my physicality you know um like around the boards in front of the net you know there there’s there’s something that I can do more on that part but I think in the last two years I worked a lot on that and I got really better on that and I think uh for the next few years I’m going to a lot better on that too
do you have any friends do you know anybody with Savers organization
uh no I don’t I don’t know anyone
have you heard from anybody either Kevin Adams or any of the scouts yeah the the GM called me uh right after I got picked but yeah I have a lot of things on my phone that I need to check but yeah
what did he did what did he say to you just beyond just just congratulations
yeah it was just uh congratulating me you know he said you know there’s a lot of excitement for for me there and uh they were really proud to bring me in the organization
was it did you sort of have a chance to exhale after you heard your name called
uh yeah a lot you know when I I hugged my family it was sort of all the stress went down but you know there’s still some stress there but yeah it was it was really good
