the North Division finals begin tonight with game one as the Rochester Americans take on the Laval Rocket at Bluec Cross Arena hey everyone I’m Andrew Mossbrooks and this is your game day preview this is also the first time the Amirs are back in action in 13 days after sweeping the Syracuse Crunch in the North Division semifinals the Amirs won three games and didn’t allow a goal after trailing two nothing in game one the red white and blue went on to score 11 unanswered over the next three games with Devin Levi displaying postseason mastery with back-to-back shutouts in games two and three becoming the first Ammers goender in 25 years to record consecutive shutouts in the CER Cup playoffs the focus now shifts to facing the AHL’s best team as the Laval Rocket finished their best season in franchise history posting 48 wins and becoming the lone American Hockey League club to eclipse 100 standings points last round saw Montreal’s AHL affiliate knock off the Cleveland Monsters in four games with forwards Lauren Dolphin and Alex Baroule each posting six points in the series now this will be a challenge for Rochester as the Rocket took six of eight meetings during the regular season against the Amirs but the last time this team was in the North Division finals was also against a top place Canadian team and they swept the Toronto Marlies back in 2023 games one and two of this series will be taking place right here at Blue Cross Arena before the rest of the way shifts to Plasbell in Laval puck drop for tonight is at 7:05 grab your tickets at amirs.com
