TSN’s Darren Dreger joins to lay out how the Kane trade came to be, and what might be next for a Canucks team that he thinks may be among the busiest in the NHL. Dregs even goes through a rapid fire of players he thinks will be on the move this week.

I don’t understand where the value is when Edmonton was looking to off load Kane. Alvin is trying to show he’s doing something in off season
Problem child. GG .
Welcome home Evander.
I don't like this trade. The Canucks trade JT Miller, because of the drama. Turn around and sign E. Kane. What a joke
I think the decision for Canucks management was: We could have Pius Suter for about $5mil/season times 4-5yrs, or we could have Evander Kane for about the same price but for one year. Suter doesn't have enough consistency to play in the top-6 and other free agents on the market will be overpriced…
Patrick Allvin still has a lot of work to do before he has the confidence of the fans
The panthers showed you need assholes and psychos on your team to win. Kane fits the bill. If the coaching staff can keep him on the right side of the line he can draw a lot of penalties and abuse from the other team and get in people’s heads.
Cheap, have until trade deadline to move him, will help right away. Zero downside to this.
Good insight from Dreger today.
Great interview…I'm excited to see what more moves will come in the next few days!
The Oilers dumped kane for a FOURTH round pick. He is a POS, the biggest cheap shot artist, will never fight and can divide any locker room faster than any player in the league. What a LOSER
Please, please, PLEASE! Fill vacancies from Abbotsford
This video did not age well, Buffalo traded Peterka to Utah
Most uselsss interview I’ve ever heard, claims a guy will not be traded then he gets trade later that same day 😂 demko might re-sign but he could be traded! Only seems to know the obvious names available, all 3 of them 😂 so out of the loop.
Demko is 50/50 hopefully he can get back in form but his injury makes it risk. I say give Demko another year.
hes a good player he will be fine a ryan kessler type player but tougher
Demko and bluger for RNH bring them boys home
Moving one of the G's for a C seems the only sensible move; the G's have the best value on the team (other than breaking down the D that you've spent 3 years building!), you can't keep all three anyway (Silovs will be claimed if waived). Go for the home-run and send Demko or Lankinen for a GOOD #1~2 C.
Just by the Peterka comments you can see these guys have no idea what is going on. Everything is just speculation .Like in football everybody is interested in everyone and in the end nobody trades for anyone they reported on .
This video is an example that most insiders dont know anything. JJ trade happens the same day lol
He got traded to Vancouver because they were the only ones that wanted him otherwise, why would you send a player like that to arrival division team?
JJ peterka…..he gone
5:43 The answer to that question is yes. At minimum the Canucks should have made the Oilers retain salary. The Canucks had all the leverage and they should have made Edmonton pay.
Why do you think the other teams didn't win the trade because the Canucks gave up more than what other teams were willing to do. If Edmonton didn't want to retain or add a sweetener, then you let someone else make that deal.
Kane will miss 50% of the games next series due to injuries. He’s getting older and his style of game is very difficult to play when you’re aging out. That is reality. Go back past 4 years and see how many games were missed.
I like Kane, will fit in good with EP. But i will Judge the trade when the whole circus is over. I think Kane will be good in vancover, hometown and everything.
If the they can I think the Canucks should try and get Bowen Byram next
Adding Kane is an excellent move and all the false "fans" crapping all over this deal, the clowns with crystal balls who absolutely know the future should apply for GM since they obviously know more than those who have been making a living at this all their professional lives.
What a BS fluff piece. Guys a fn idiot.
If he gets along with Petey we’re all good lol
This is so bad for the Canucks. Rutherford has lost the plot.
Kane is a good pick up for the Canucks! Canucks have been too soft for too long! Bring in players that bring sandpaper! Pettersson and Hughes are great regulation season players but come playoff time you’ll never find them useless you have some tough guys on the team!
Of all the players to make a comeback feom off ice issues, Darren mentions Emery. One of the few black guys to play in the NHL
This is a terrible mistake for the Oilers.
Should of keep him …..terrible mistake…….end of story
Too bad he’s a LH LW. There’s already enough of those in Vancouver. This addition is about a half-decade late to matter.
I’m totally pumped to bring him in now. I think he’s a little older AND a little wiser. A definite upgrade from Besser. Physical and will go to the hard places. Can certainly score. Will back up his teammates. Won’t be intimidated. Real good pickup, especially for just giving up a fourth round draft pick. 👍👍
and as soon as Dreger says Peterka is a long shot to be traded……he's traded
