   Between Gibson and Talbot we’ve got a solid goalie for upwards of 40 games this season. Between our other 5 goalies we might be able to survive the upcoming season

    Anaheim has been trying to dump this Gibson contract for four or five years. They finally cherry picked opportunities and got some good value from him as a back-up for 29 games this year.
    Now they don't have to retain salary they get a more reasonably priced veteran back-up in Mrazek. and a second and a third and got out from under $6.4 million for two more years.
    There is no evidence from the last five years to say that Gibson can be a starter.
    He last had a good NHL starter season in 2018/19
    This is theft unless Gibson turns back the clock SEVEN FRIKKING YEARS.

    I think the Mrazek contract may have been overlooked. Anaheim didn’t free up a ton of money by any means and Detroit had the space (and relatively cheap Talbot contract) to take on this contract. I’d have graded a B with the potential for it to upgrade depending on Gibsons play. The upside for Anaheim is limited aside from about 2 million in cap space each year.

    Something is brewing in Anaheim. Freeing up cap when they already got a tun of cap and the owner saying that is willing to spend.

    Good trade by yzerman now if we go after a star or talented defenseman i can see the drought finally ending.

    Gibson had a really good year this recent season with good save percentage and so did talbot so we got a solid tandem

    Wrong Detroit gets the A+ on this deal stop disrespecting Detroit everyone does 🙄.

    Gibson is our best goalie in the locker room and best goalie yzerman has signed since he took over cause he’s been always signing average backup goalies

    I love that Spence trade for the Sens so much especially when the context of that 3rd round pick was used in a trade down where the Sens still got their guy. I think Spence is perfect for Spence he could fill into the top 4 if Jensen if he's not ready to start the season and even when everyone is healthy Spence seems like a flexible dman that 1 night could play on the top pair with Sanderson and the next night play on the 3rd pair with Kleven and the Sens haven't really had someone like that in a while.

    Is Detroit's goaltending really the issue it was decent last year and they still allowed a ton of goals the main issue for me is that dcore. Gibson will help hide some of the deficiencies that dcore has but the question for me really is can Yzerman fix that blue line then I see this being a good trade otherwise I don't think it moves the needle enough to get them to the playoffs

    john gibson is a tougher player but the redwings are western conference. Spence is undervalue, a dead beat. under value not over value like gambling it is the plus that matters not the -. You want an over valued player even if you overpay because he has value.

    You completely overlooked Mrazek making $4+ million. Detroit only added $2 million in cap space to solidify their goaltending. C+ is wild
