In this video I recap what ended up being the final three games of the Calder Cup Final and the last games of the AHL season. The Abbotsford Canucks were two wins away from doing something no Canucks-affiliated team has done in 45 years, and yes, they actually pulled it off.
From Arshdeep Bains’ nastiness, to Sammy Blais sending six-foot-seven dudes into the upside-down, to Artūrs “Arty Party” Šilovs locking it down and winning playoff MVP, this series had everything. And if you’re wondering why I never finished covering the NHL Final, blame Edmonton and thank Abbotsford.

I was at game 4 and it was electric, I f*cking love this team
Big congratulations to the AHL squad. Those playoffs are a marathon and they are very deserving champions.
Not expecting a run to the Cup from the big league club but quietly optimistic at least. They still need another capable centre badly but Kane adds some toughness and hopefully reliable scoring to one of the first 2 lines, defensive rotation is much more solid than how it was constructed going into last season and surely a couple of the Abby Canucks players are ready to challenge for a full-time NHL spot now.
I’m not a Brian, however I’ll keep watching!

The fuck was all that bullshit drama about "closing your eyes"? Not sure what planet you're on, but I saw nothing aside from a beer league game with Ogie Oglethorpe-style hits. Seems like every player on every team should have been ejected and then suspended. Edit: I stand corrected. Everyone but the goalies.
I also stopped watching the Stanley Cup Finals. Baby Canucks were just way too fun.
I love how at the start of the video you can see Checkers fans pulling the finger on the Canucks because the team they love sucks 😂

I was at Game 5 (I work at the arena where it was held) and honestly, that game was brutal! So stressful! Also we were fully sold out, 7000 fans in the bowl plus an extra 400 with "Standing Room Only" tickets which was a new special thing for the arena during playoffs. If you're in Abbotsford BC, we're having a Calder Cup Celebration event at the arena later today (the 26th) so that'll be fun. I of course will be working that event, so that'll be fun.

I'm so happy that I got to watch game 4 in person. Canucks fans deserve this win. I'm just sad that winning the calder means more trade bait for our prospects… I have a really bad feeling Silovs is going to be traded because he won't pass through waivers after training camp. He has too much potential at his age and we don't have room for him to backup. Keeping Demko makes more sense even though he is made of glass, when healthy he will be the reason we make it into the playoffs again, Silovs is good but not great at the NHL level (at least so far). And don't even get me started on the Kane trade. Anyways I will just enjoy this cup run while it lasts because this might be the last time we will see the Canucks win a cup 😭thanks for the videos as always! I hope we don't shit the bed in the offseason…

The heart breaking 💔 losses in the finals against New York Islanders in 1982 New York Rangers in 1994 and Boston Bruins in 2011 has been forgotten for good when Abbotsford Canucks won the Calder Cup last June 23 2025 and the first on the Canucks organization since it was created in 1970 a historic win ever in hockey history
