Steal! Should’ve been a late first rounder. He’s almost a certainty to be a middle six winger in the NHL. 2nd line upside imo
All the rangers ever draft is bottom pair defensemen and "middle six" wingers and then wonder why they cant beat the best teams in the league.
He played three seasons with Carey Terrance. Two of those seasons: they were both in the top four in offensive production.
This past season Terrance only played 45 games with the Otters: missing two months with injury.
So looks like there's a familiarity and chemistry with these two.

Another bust in the making
Also, now that I got to the end of the podcast, Drury is absolutely the worst gm in the league. Almost every move he has made has been dog shit. The rangers lose every trade and every contract negotiation. What the hell has he done right? And the only reason they got to the ecf against Tampa is because Pittsburgh was down to their 3rd string goalie, how does everyone gloss over that? And the only reason they beat Carolina is because the rangers have goaltending, and the hurricanes are held back by shit goaltending because their owner would rather be cheap than good. That jackass owner has cost himself tens of millions of dollars in playoff ticket gates to save just a couple million in salary over the years. And yes I'd even take Adam's over Drury. People can mock the palm trees comment all they want, the essence of what he was saying was true. It's monumentally harder to build a winner in a place no one wants to be. It isnt just free agents, buffalo is on damn near ever players no trade list if they have one.
No mention of Dubas trading the pick to Philly?
This kid sounds a bit like Ryan Callahan with more offensively.
I've watched Spence in Erie, nice kid! He's a threat to defenceman when they have the puck, lots of takeaways. He and Terrance were on the pk, lots of shorthanded goals. Sneaky shot, needs work but can play in all situations. Nice pick up for not having a 1st round pick
