The problem with Skinner is he was thrown into the starter role before he was done developing. Hes only like 26 most goalies peak at 30, give Stu time to finish developing as a 1B in a tandem.
So that's Campbell and now Skinner, both bad bad experiments wasting 2 each years of McD Time. 4 years now of totally wasted time pretending AHL Goalies are elite talents, after having run out Koskinen. This Franchise is now very very close to wasting 2 generational talents after sucking harsh for 10 yrs with 5 1st round picks. They were warned time and again by people like me. All 4 of us. And now I'm supposed to believe they are oh so close, after having been far far worse then last year. I hope Bowman is a great GM, but I hear him talk and it reeks of a guy who just doesn't get it. If Oilers don't have this team up as a real contender by the Playoffs, and have a great deep run if not win it, then you can count of McD leaving this Team and it's constant management blunders.

Goal tending was not the problem for the oilers in the final??! Lack of goals was and poor defensive performance infront of their goal tender was the biggest issue
If a goal tender stops first shot and next rebound shot he shouldn’t have to face any more!!!!
Get Demko and Skinner as a tandem. Dump Nurse and get some value for your money on defense.
May as well get ready for disappointment on either side of the goalie situation. Either you wont be happy with a trade for a #1 due to the price or they'll run it back and fufill the requirements of insanity with the goal tending.

Trade Bouchard for a top flight goalie, bouch is just turning into a more expensive version of Barrie. Have skinner as the 1B to learn from the 1A
Move Bouchard and Skinner (picks, etc) and their $13m combined salary for any of the following Combos
Binnington/Parayko
Swayman/Lindholm
Anderson/Slavin
Sorokin/Dobson
Id love to move Nurse and keep Bouch but hes not waiving his NMC
And our PK which nobody seems to be talking about was brutal, and neither Nurse or Bouch at $20m combined dont solve this problem

Skinner doesn't have the mental focus to be a #1 yet but it might be a mistake to give up on him already.He's clearly been badly coached and used in the wrong role on this team.Let him backup an elite goalie for a couple seasons.

Lose Skinner, why would you want to keep him. Bouchard is another issue with the contract I hope he doesn't get. Think about it your going to get back into backing up to the same issue as last year losing Broberg and Holloway.You don't need to spend all your money. You guys are dealing with personality feeling and not at what the problems could be.

The problem wasn't so much the goaltending as it was the lack of offence do to Florida's great defense

I think the Oilers will be making a big mistake by over paying for a goal tender! Gibson or Demko are both wrong choices for the Oilers! Tehy're both extremely injury prone! These guys don't know what they're talking about!
If the Oilers start the next season with Skinner and Pickard, that's not a disaster! Both these guys got the Oilers to the Stanley Cup Finals! They weren't good enough against Florida but they beat all of the other teams! Why is everyone panicking?
Worried about being one injury from Pickard being the guy? Why? He had like a .700 win pct. The real fear is having to rely on Skinner.
