schaeffer has the ability to be a 100 point scorer as a defenseman that is how good he is he has magical skates and is a great puck handler

Why are we smiling? We couldn't wait to really benefit from a much better draft class? Our future depends on a little less than maybes..We're getting excited on maybes? Why isn't there more of the fan base tired of hearing maybes/possibles/good coaching can elevate their potential!? Every time we hear those words, the opposite happens.

What is wrong with this fan base right now? The isles went into the draft lottery with a 3.5% chance to win and they did. They took the best player available at each and every pick tonight. Yes we didn’t get Hagens but we got two solid players in eklund and kashawn. Trading Dobson also cleared up a lot of money for fa. I think we need to be more optimistic instead of complaining about missing on a player.
what's to get excited about? none of these picks helps next year or the next. Schaefer has a skating style that aint makar smooth and wont last long when nhl guys lay a hit on him. and isles passed on the best scorer/g scorer of draft, couldn't deliver their hyped hagens, and traded their best trade chip 8 not for needed scoring help but to save $$$'s and get two mid 1st picks. so i ask where is the scoring help isles need after all of their draft hullababoo? And who fill's 8's spot on d and on pp? enjoy those menial second tier ufa's isles are sure to sign next week. And to think isles are gonna win the mckenna lottery after this lottery gift isles didn't deserve is fools thinking.
Would have been great to get Hagens as he's my brother's neighbor in Happauge…but happy for the kid and his family since he'll be close by in Boston. Great spot for any LI kid.
These previous comments are the dumbest takes. This draft was great for the Isles future. 16 and 17 were steals and obviously Schaefer is in a class of his own. Great work Darche. Dont get bullied by mgt to mortage the future to draft some kid from LI. What a great day to be an Isles fan!
