  1. Canadiens have acquired forward Sean Monahan and a conditional first-round pick in 2025 from the Calgary Flames in exchange for future considerations

  2. The conditions of the pick are a little jumbled, but the way I see it Montreal is getting a first regardless. It's just about which first they get.

  3. Great video. And its a great trade for Montreal. A first round pick and probably something a the trading trade line.
And yes, Cary Price wont play this season.

  4. Hugues just confirmed that Price is going on LTIR, that's where the space for Monahan, and also Dach and Primeau will come from.

  5. I think I heard that Price surgery did not corrected his injury that hes been carrying for a while, so you got him for LTIR, and maybe they are going to trade him to end his contract like they did with the Shae Webber ''situation''. Anyways, next season it going to be a hit or miss. Nice analysis mate. Cheers!! 😉

  6. I’m hoping Price is just taking this year off to work on his knee so he can come back better next year. It would suck if this is how his career ends.

  7. I broke it down into a flow chart and unless a very niche situation happens (One of the teams finishing with the top 10 or lottery pick which I don’t see happening) one of two things is probably gonna happen, Montreal is either going to use the flames 2024 first round pick that is in the range of 20 to 32 (anything higher than that and they don’t get the option) and the flames get to keep Floridas pick OR Montreal gets The better of the flames or the Panthers pick up neither are top 10 in 2025

  8. Kris Draper was traded for future considerations in 1993 and that ended up being $1.
Ray Sheppard was also traded for future considerations in 1990 that ended up being $1.
In the Theo Fleury trade in 1999, the future considerations became Robyn Regehr (they were allowed to select 1 of the Avs' 3 selections from the first round of the previous year's draft).
In the Randy Carlyle trade in 1984, the future considerations became Moe Mantha (though he was allowed to finish off his season with the Jets before the trade finalized).
In 1990 John Tucker was traded to the Capitals. The future considerations was John Tucker coming back to the Sabres a few months later.
In 1991 Mark Messier was traded along with future considerations to the Rangers. The future considerations were Jeff Beukeboom.

  9. I guess something: it’s a three way trade where Prixe will move in a USA team who needs a goalie and a team who accept that Price cannot play in cadana with out his 2 weeks quarantine

  10. I'm sad about price. I honestly believe that injury from Kreider just torepedod price's career.

  11. The flames will be fine.. 7 million bucks a year for kadri will be okay in a few years. The salary will raise alot in 5 years. So it aint so bad unless no playoff success happens.

  12. With this trade for the Canadiens acquiring this player Monahan, Dvorak will probably be moved to the wing particularly left wing on the second line or maybe a third line center role or maybe a third line left wing role. I'm assuming this is going to be an excellent acquisition for the Canadiens.

  13. I Hope Monahan fits in and I hope his health issues are behind him. He seems like a nice guy. He def had a heck of a streak of bad luck with his hips. Let's hope his fortune changes and he can get back to having fun.

Habs are full of guys with lots to prove.

  14. In 1993 Detroit acquired Chris Draper from Winnipeg for future considerations! The Wing ended up sending the Jets a cheque for one dollar as future consideration.

  15. I think future considerations is an iou. I think it is more valuable than nothing, if Treliving wants something from Montreal down the line he will get it
