How does Cole Eiserman's value compare to these two picks? Would you rather have Eiserman (last season's 20th overall pick) than one of these picks? Do you think teams like Utah, Nashville, Philadelphia, and Boston are interested in Eiserman?
Islanders fan here Dobson is not great defensively but he is a great offensive defenseman. I'm not mad about the trade I don't think he is worth that cap hit tho

Im a blackhawks fan but i still would like to see islanders get hagens, hope the kid can play for his hometown team.

For all those 🤡 that think that it would take Reinbacher to get Dobson, that didn’t age well. Reinbacher has always been a non-negotiable for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.
The package the islanders will have to give up gotta be crazy to trade up for hagens.
Getting Dobson means Habs can put Ghule and Hutson back to their natural position of LHD.
Cool, this might shake things up tonight. Hopefully Misa falls to the Hawks, but I'm happy with either Hagens or Frondell.
I'd give a B- for the Isles and a B+ for the Habs, but New York can still have that A+ if their picks plan out.
I think playing with Ghule, a very defensively sound d-man will help Dobson

Matheson are very very good to move the uck like you said. The defence of Montreal are now on paper one of the best ine the NHL, ans maybe this year Maillou and Reinbacher . wow.

First question do people still think Hutson is signing for 8 mil?
I said his agent will want 11 Hutson would likely accept 8-9 so they will meet in the middle and imo this 9.5 is a very specific number becuase they want hutson to be th ehighest paid so imo Management is eyeing up exactly 10 mil but might not be 8 years perhaps 6-7.On that note I thought I heard nobody could sign 8 yr contracts anymore maybe that was next year IDK maybe I was too far away and didn't hear it correctly.
No matter I am ok aquiring Dobson but now there are two questions left to be answered.
Does this mean Reinbacher is set for Laval or was the meeting with Matheson not so good maybe Mike is leaving we will find out likely soon enough.I was not happy with the Reinbacher pick not becuase I didn't like him I just felt we need to focus more on forwards.

It would be wild if the Islanders went from not having 1 top 10 pick to having TWO top 5 picks. Just have to see if Hagens reaches a spot that someone is willing to trade out of, and I suspect Darche already has a trade lined up at 5, 6, or 7 if does.

Dobson is a big boy with a great shot, great skater and hes only 25.
Massive for both teams, especially if NYI can snag Hagens. With MTLs prospect pool, and now crowded d-line there has to he sonething else brewing. Fact MTL was able to oull this trade off and keep Hage, Mailloux and Hage opens the door for the acquisition of another top 6 forward.
I know there is concern about Dobson's usage when it comes to the PP1, but i really dont see it. Either they have Dobson and Hutson quarterback seperate units or load them up, which could mean both Slaf and Laine shift to the second unit, and imo thats forming a relatively strong basis for the pp2.

A great move by the habs. They already have a deep pool and they didnt need some b to c tier prospects. Gives them a major piece to elevate that team for next year, matheson is surplus to move for a top 6 winger. Safe to say the habs are looking like early offseason winners. Bit more rich than i would have gone but the cap is going up and he is still very young. Great move by the habs.
Islanders i admit this is a gamble that i really dont love. No guarantee you even get high enough in the top 10 with those picks alone. I worry they also dont get their guy and get stuck holding the bag. Its ultimately what rfa would have netted you but its a huge gamble where i feel if worst case they stay at 16 and 17 then they get stuck with some guys i wouldnt say have a high chance of panning the way the team needs. Im not the biggest believer in this fo so i will wait and see but i dont have a lot of trust they get this right.

Dobson had issues last year because the Islanders were/are shit. He's going to a team with more actual potential. My guess is that Dobson saw the young, talented roster of MTL and wanted a piece of that.
Hutson, Dobson, Matheson, Guhle, and Carrier basically have their spots.
Everyone else will have to fight for it.
