The Leafs' fans always need a player to blame for playoff failures. Marner is the person right now. Tavares is the only member of the Core 4 to score a series winning goal. Why Matthews and Nylander aren't seen as part of the issue is ridiculous.
With Matthews' chronic injury limiting his goal scoring he is likely going to be the next Kessel/Marner.

Nobody is saying that teams can't win the cup with Marner except Craig Button. The way the Leafs are constructed is why they can't win with him.

Button makes me laugh. Nashville signed Stamkos, and I'm sure regrets it now. He is terrible 5 x 5, and was a minus 36 this year with 27 goals. Tavares is in a similar situation, the coaches were protecting him defensively. At 4-5 million, he is a good signing. Realistically, he made over 100 million in his career, if it's about money let him walk. If he truly believes in playing and winning here, then take a team friendly deal and show it. Dallas has huge Cap issues, so Robertson probably will be going.

Zegras being a NY/CT kid I have always enjoyed watching develop into an NHLer however the All-Star game skills thing, with the costume was a low point and seemingly for his career as well. I hope he rebounds from the injuries he has had and turns into a legit NHL player. He has elite skills, a bit slight in build but has the tools. Let´s not make this the NHL TIKTOK.

Philly will be a lottery team with a -85 goal differential but the few insane highlight reel goals per year from Zegras/Michkov/Drysdale combo are going to hit like the finest black tar.

It sucks that we've moved him, but I can understand the broader thinking of needing to move on. But why now? Why when his value is the lowest of all time?
