10 years ago today. Time sure does fly.
Crazy Kane didn’t even get to go once
as a kid born in the early 2000s, this is my 1980 us olympic hockey team 😂
Oshie and Quick, the goats of modern Olympic American hockey
Just a few Hall of Famers out there.
Most overrated player in recent history
TJ was as automatic as it got for the Blues in shootouts around this time!
I cant believe russia didnt have their best player, vladimir vladimirych putin, participate in this match…😂😂😂
Kovalchuk could have been legend…
10 years later, Bob won his first cup.
Oshie will forever be remembered as the hero of the game but shoutout Quick too, Guy was right there in the trenches with him
2024 anyone?
happy 4th of july to tj oshie
I remember watching this at the arena after my team just got off the ice from practice nobody undressed or got out of their uniform and we all squeezed around a tiny tv I’ll never forget that day and that goal he scored to win the game we celebrated like we won gold in our next game we were still so hype about the us beating the Russians the week before and we won 15-2 and would go on to win every single game and won it all in the playoff coach did the herb brooks speech before the championship we won 4-3 after giving up the the tying goal with 23 seconds left we ended up winning in the 3rd overtime never forgot that 14 U season
This was unbelievable.
DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES
As a Ranger fan, if John Tortorella were the head coach, instead of Dan Bylsma, then Chris Kreider would’ve been there and Quick would’ve stopped Kovalchuk on the 1st attempt to end it because he (Quick) wouldn’t have been so tired. Not to mention, we would’ve taken home the gold medal with a 4-0 victory over Sweden. Torts’ relationship with Kreider wasn’t as bad as people think. After all, it was Torts who drafted Kreider. It was Bylsma who didn’t have his team ready to play in that semifinal game against Canada or the bronze medal game against Finland.

TJ IS A LEGEND
Came back here after watching the 4 nations. This was electric. I’m glad they are going back to participating in international tournaments.
im drunk as hell in 2025 and remembering watching this as a kid. TJ Oshie is a legend and made my night.
With Doc on the call makes it all more extraordinary
I love the little armbands the referees are wearing… but why are they wearing two? Should just be on the left, no?
Fuck Ruzzia
2025. Still legendary. 🇺🇲
This guy went Shootout for Shootout with Pavel Datsyuk (The Shootout god himself) and won.
Whose here after his retirement?
This was so hard to watch back then. Our home Olympics — with Ovi, Geno, Kovi, Magicman, Tarasenko, and Bob on the team. I remember how devastated I felt after that shootout. We had been waiting for this Olympics for years, hoping for success and keeping in mind that painful and humiliating 3–7 loss to Canada in Vancouver 2010. The whole tournament was seen as a chance for retaliation. But then the evil shootout genius TJ Oshie stepped in and said a huge NO.
Great player, great career. Thank you for the 2018 Stanley Cup. Can’t thank you for Sochi 2014 though 🙂
