In this episode of Locked On Oilers, Nick Zararis explains why goaltending is the league’s most volatile position, why the Oilers aren’t likely to upgrade, and what it means if Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard remain the plan for next season. Don't tell me it is Stu starting next season again. No matter what others say, he is NOT the guy we need to win the cup.
I keep hearing on Vancouver channels they’re ready to give up Demko, go for it!
To paraphrase Seinfeld's Soup Nazi: "No Cup for you!" … btw, does Dustin Schwartz have special pictures of the Oilers' owner or what? … If you're desperate enough to change something and you can't get a better goaltender, then why not – at the very least – try a new goaltending coach? It is ludicrous that this guy has more tenure than a university professor.
Skinner is not and never will be a no 1 goalie he’s had 2 years to prove himself and he has built a reputation of being consistent at being inconsistent and for giving up freebee goals every other game . He is best known as the low ice fish flopper saver .the team has no confidence in Skimmer .he is overrated, Oilers management you don’t owe skinner nothing quit feeling guilty and let him go the sooner the better, time ias runnig out for the best oiler players ,plus it’s very hard to get back to the Stanley cup final .Of course Skinner is doing his best but he has serious flaws that show themselves on a continuous basis and his performance has no got better .the defence is not playing in the net ,Skinner is freebies are his specialty when the team needs him the most ,He is not and never will be a no 1 goalie a backup to a backup . Oilers you have nothing to lose moving on from Skammer and have everything to gain by trading him .Oilers management you’re had 2 years of skinner you’ve got nothing no cup do you want to make it 3 years if not move on from Skinner with a better goalie the Oiler team deserves that .Quit fooling around and do what needs to be done without any more delays or excuses the fans and players deserves better
Fresno State. smirks
The elephant in the room is the Oilers goalie coach, Dustin Schwartz. Start with getting rid of him, then work to see what direction you go from there. But no doubt, it's the goalie coaching that I feel has been the issue.
