I never would have thought we would have landed in the timeline where the Florida Panthers were the undisputable best team in the NHL, but I'm all about it. They are showing the rest of the league that you can be the team that was running the league just a few seasons ago (Lightning), have 4 of the best 20 players in hockey (Leafs), the feeling of "this HAS to be the year" (Hurricanes), or 2 of the top 5 players in hockey (Oilers). It doesn't matter a bit when you run up against a team that will beat the brakes off you any time they feel like it. As soon as Edmonton won the West finals, I knew Florida was winning the cup. Even if Dallas would have beaten the Oilers, the outcome would have been the same. The word dynasty gets thrown around too much, but I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if we end up looking back at this current Florida run the same way we look back at the late 90s Red Wings.
