This Keeps Getting CRAZIER… MAJOR Bruins Move Coming | Boston Bruins News
trade reports keep coming out and keep getting crazier for this Boston Bruins team as a new athletic article has revealed Eric Carlson as a name interested by the Boston Bruins We’re going to be breaking that down as well as a very important round two pick in tomorrow’s draft which features a very interesting candidate that the Bruins are linked to We’re going to be breaking it all down here in this video Going over the trade going over the draft and as I’ve said we have so much stuff to cover over these next few days as we get towards draft and free agency You won’t want to miss it Be sure to hit the sub button We just passed 7K with the big goal of getting to 10K But we had a lot of ways to go yet but we have a lot of news to cover You won’t want to miss it Be sure to hit the sub button But let’s get straight into this here And I wanted to start off with the Athletic Art Go over where we saw all this Eric Carlson stuff start to come from And honestly caught me by quite a bit of a surprise And I’m going to start this off here with this first little bit coming from it Whether the Bruins belong here depends on management’s true plans If they see a 2025 deadline set uh set off as the start of a long-term rebuild Carlson doesn’t make sense If it was a reset to facilitate a quick retool Boston could be looking to have an aggressive summer similar to the Washington Capitals approach last summer And this comes from Shaina Goldman Now she continues on going over this part here And if it’s the latter Carlson’s name could be on the radar in Charlie Makavoy Boston has a number one defenseman but he isn’t as perfect on the power play as a quarterback And there aren’t a ton of other options to choose from Carlson could take that role as and take a slot in the second pair with His Lindam or Nikita Dorov The latter may be super risky pair defensively but also could thread the needle enough offensively to make it all click So this athletic article went over a few different teams and the Boston Bruins were the last group uh on this list and it is a very interesting one because it very it seems very improbable for a guy like Eric Carlson to be on a Boston Bruins team now specifically going with who we have on the right side even though we do have a major hole and I’m going to go over in a little bit here why something like this may not be as bad as it may seem but going over that his cap everything that really kind of seems the way the Bruins are taking this new team like doesn’t really match up with Aaron Carlson But when we do come down to it it could be a very interesting option And I want to know what you guys think So just wait a minute Wait until we kind of go over all this stuff and let me know what you think because it’s kind of crazy but it doesn’t seem too out of the way But Eric Carlson is making 11.5 million Now alone at this price it is possible the Bruins do go and get him very very tough to be able to justify adding this contract comfortably and making it seem that you know it would fit in perfectly with this team Making the same amount as David Pashock highest paid player on the Bruins currently is a very tough thing to add But when you do have 23 and a half million or so it it’s capable of doing that Now would the Bruins be willing to give up a little bit more to be able to make a trade happen plus get a 50% retention from the Penguins that’s another thing that is a big question Could happen But the way the Penguins are trying to get these last few wins coming out of this uh you know Sydney Crosby era that seems like it’s a bit unlikely But let’s just say at a you know 5.5 million let’s 5.75 million I guess of what would be half of this contract that could be a pretty feasible kind of deal to be able to work with as a second pairing defenseman But also that second pairing defenseman being Eric Carlson at 35 years old And with that 23 million the Bruins have they’re trying to make a bunch of moves We know that We know there’s a some more people that are linked into here We’re going to have a video later today as well about that coming out about once again another Noah Dobson update And there’s some things there that the Islanders are planning on doing to get involved with the Boston Bruins here at the draft with many trades and they’re going to need every bit of that cap But as Shaya said if it comes down to being one where it’s a retool they’re looking to add as another right defenseman to get back into these playoffs really quickly rather than kind of going the full couple year rebuild It’s a much better option than a lot of other players that are out there right now and that are available for a second unit And I want to pull this up right now This is kind of where it comes down to where I’m saying that although he is an expensive and currently the highest paid second pairing defenseman on the right side when you looked at a 50% retention coming down he’s right at the bottom of this list along with Eric Shernack Matt Roy Shawn Dery Ryan Pollock that kind of area of price tags and he is better than a lot of those players down there especially and even at 35 the way that he’s been able to play on the power play offensively pairing with a great defensive uh defenseman could work out very very well and be interesting fit for this Bruins team So I want to know what you guys kind of think about that right there because you know obviously looking at Eric Carlson he’s an expensive player He’s a pretty good player but still you know even at 35 an offensive defenseman his defense really isn’t there 53 points in 82 games And even as a second pairing defenseman playing 23 minutes time on ice he also plays first line minutes You know you could really interline uh you know inter swap him or Chris Tang on that first line So he’s still got it And even at 35 years old a five million5 to6 million deal for Eric Carlson if it if it is a 50% retention could kind of be the move And I I think that’s something that we want to really keep an eye on But we got to move on to our draft pick now And the Bruins do have two second round picks this year This is something that we’ve spoken not as much as the first round pick the seventh overall about but this is yet another important one And Tankathon currently has the Boston Bruins their second pick which is at 61 linking to Podor and Drianov I believe that’s how I pronounce his name I apologize if it’s wrong but he’s a goalie coming out of the MHL And I will pull this up on the bigger screen here because when you do go take a look at 61 his stats there 62 207 37 games played 175 goals against a 942 save percentage Those numbers in the MHL which is the lower league to the KHL but still very very good league A lot of talent coming from there as well Those are some very interesting numbers them in a second round pick We know the Bruins are in a bit of an interesting goalie situation where Jeremy Swayman coming off a really bad year is still going to be a goalie here for as far as we know you have your next goalie Jonas Corposal who is looking to be traded here in the summer We don’t know if it actually will happen Your two AHL goalies Brandon Bossy Michael Dpietro both free agents unsure if either of those guys will be resigned or even if they want to resign with this Boston Bruins team if they remain at a AHL level even as a backup in the NHL And going off that that’s really all you have for your goalender So a lot of questions have been raised as to what the Bruins are going to do And this seems to solve a lot of issues that this team may have in that um in that industry Kodernov has become a very interesting kind of aspect here at 61 for the Bruins because as I mentioned you know about the uncertainty that we currently have at the Bruins goending uh mainly behind Jeremy Swayman So really everybody else but he’s a guy who in the Russian MHL level has been a very solid goalie especially this year where he really showed what he’s made of 18 years old was 17 was 16 going on 17 in his first year there And as you know just a very talented goalie Have him listed here as 6 foot and the other one is 6’2 So we don’t really know exactly what height he is but more so favoring the 6’2 idea there He’s been very good throughout 37 games here and has been someone that a lot of people are going to be keeping an eye on behind Joshua Ravensburgen and Jack Ivan Kovichic in this draft He is currently the third goalie going here I believe Correct me if I’m wrong there Uh but it does seem like a very interesting move especially for a Boston Bruins team that you know as I mentioned has a lot of uncertainty on their goalending And when we pull this up in the big one as I mentioned Jeremy Swain really the only one that is for sure here next year And even then there’s been a lot of reports about the Edmonton Warriors trying to get involved and whatnot Jonas Scorpal voiced his displeasure about last season not playing as many games as he did He’s looking to probably be traded That’s something that I think is possibility We’ve seen Daniel Terasoft just get traded to the Panthers as a backup Then Brandon Bossy Michael Dpietro I’m in much in favor of Michael DPro being resigned here compared to Brandon Bossy If we can only choose one I think Michael DPro would be a good backup But when it comes down to that other than that it’s the recently signed uh Simone Zek I believe that’s pronounced Once again very very much apologize if that is wrong And Philip Zedbach who is not currently signed with this team 2002 born goalie They have some younger ones there coming up but they’re not at any level yet to actually be a big impact on this Bruins team So being able to go out here get some goalies that you know you could probably work on later on You know Jeremy Swim’s contract is an 8-year deal or seven-year deal or I can’t remember exactly which one it was but we know there was a big of an issue 8 8 by66 million what it was Coming down to that those are goalates that take a lot of time to develop and that could be one here that we’re kind of figuring out with um with Andreanov So let me know what you think about that as well Are you favor of taking a goalie here in the second round you have two picks in that round So you know you’re getting your guy early on then if a goal be dropped perhaps down in like you know in the 61 range where the Bruins currently stand are you comfortable taking one i just guess the security net or whatnot for the Bruins But they have a lot of possible moves that they’re going to be making here And as I mentioned we’re going to have a video later today of course as well that’s going over some more moves that we spoke about There’s more updates on no adoption as well as some new targets in free agency So you will not want to miss that That’s all I got in this video If you’d enjoy it give it a like hit the sub button as well Remember we’re on the road to 10K The big goal is 10K and we know we can do it Sports been absolutely incredible as of late and I appreciate every single one of you guys watching this video right now But we got a lot of news to cover so you won’t want to miss it That’s all I got in this video If you did enjoy give it a like hit the sub button But I’m signing out Thank you for watching Hope you have a great day See you later

BIG NOOOOO on Karlsson. Way too over rated.
Penguins knock on the door with karlson. You don’t answer😂😂😂😂
There is no way. Could it said, not a fact. Could doesn't mean major.
NOOOOOOOOOO! pass big time on Karlsson, he is getting up there in age and makes way too much $.
The Karlsson who destroyed Boston in 2017 is not the same Karlsson in 2025 😭 please no
Unless the penguins are giving up their 1st round picks for the next 4 years no
Lol if penguins keep his contract send him over but hes Russian material hell NO
Adding Karlsson and that awful salary would be incredibly stupid. So I fully expect Sweeney to try and do it. For it to be worth it they would need to retain salary and throw picks the Bruins way and even then I don't think I am interested.
Karlson and 50% retained and a 1st for Kaestlic
If Pitts paid 70% of his salary and gave me one of their first round picks this year, I do it.
NO Fuckin Thanks !!!!!!
Karlsson… no.
If the Bruins offer him a deal on full commission I’d be ok with it. 🤣
Not a good idea to spend that kind os money/cap hit.
Getting a solid potential goalie is a good choice.
Ffffffffff no . wtf are you talking about nothing about him makes sense for the B’s
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Karlsson is ancient! He is not worth 11 million!
Sorry, but hell no. He was great in his prime but if Weenie and Cam want to get back to being (and staying) Cup contenders they need to focus on future talent, not soon to be retired talent. This guy would cost way too much $$$ for what they’d get in return. You might as well talk Big Z into coming out of retirement.
Sorry that's half our cap ,and he's to old .
A big pass
kid is soft , hard pass.
