  1. It is my hope that the Leafs find a way to get at least something from Marner's departure. A middle draft pick for early access is a possibility, as are salary dumps to accommodate Marner's salary demands by whichever team signs him.

  2. I'm surprised that I'm the only smart person that can clearly see the direct comparison of Marner and Robertson. They are the same kind of player. They both have good regular seasons but disappear in the playoffs and just can't thrive in the hard hitting small ice of the playoffs. Robertson and Marner are the kind of players you do NOT rebuild around. They should not be your core pieces. What they are great for is to be supplemental pieces. Just like Kessel. Kessel as the main man sucked. He can't handle the pressure and be your 1st line player against the other team's top defenders. Kessel thrived in a 3rd line role. That's what Marner and Robertson will thrive and do well in…playing on a teams 3rd line or at best 2nd line. They need to be insulated as the 3rd or 4th option and not be the top player vs the opponents best line else they get shut down quite easily.

  3. Playing in a tropical state would be awesome though! I'd much rather go to Universal Studios, over Canada's Wonderland 10 out of 10 times.

  4. The guy is a good player, but he's not going to make a cup-contending team better. Suitors beware. Mitchell Marner shrinks once the playoffs get going and starts to whine.

  5. Marner will end up on a modern expansion team…he won’t end up in Chicago like he should. Nope.
    Not. Gonna. Happen.

  6. The Leafs took Florida to seven games – no other team did that. Marner had over 100 points this year. Leafs should keep him.

  7. Don’t care where he goes,I hear Vagas wants him. He won’t hurt us in the playoffs. Nothing like getting to the rink for a playoff game whenit is 110 degrees.
